Weirdest Baby Name

Hi there! Im venturing over from TTGP board. Started reading through some posts on here and sparked a question in my mind: What's the weirdest baby name (or name in general) you've ever heard of? I used to work at the front desk of a hotel and checked in a man named "Urmajesty" once. Awkward.

  • The 7even one is the current weirdest for me. Before that it was Tijuana Tequila. This was a woman at the gym I worked at, born and raised on a commune in the sixties. Her parents were bona-fined hippies.

A name pronounced day-mon, but spelled Demon.

EDIT: Or the brother and sister pair that I grew up with: Rhett and Scarlett.

    That's awful.

I know a baby Thisbe.  But, I really like it and commend her parents for their choice!  Thisbe and Pyramus were the Roman version of Romeo and Juliet.

I know someone who works for a school district. Her three favorite over the years have been:

    God
    Lemonjello
Orangejello (Lemon and Orange Jello were siblings I think....)

PS they were pronounced  le-MON-gel-o and o-RAHN-gel-o
  • We met an adorable little boy at the bookstore named Adirondack.  I actually thought it was kind of cute, they called him Dack.

OH! I totally forgot. A woman allowed her five year old to name twin babies (a boy and a girl) who ended up being named Storm and Cinderella....

there is a little girl out there named Cinderella.
  • I knew as soon as I read post there would be same urban myths on here

Pilot inspektor is definitely up there with worst celeb names at least   IRL I know a Wilder-- it was crazy to me when I heard it but after a year of soccer together it kind of grew on me

  • I think the 7even that I just read on this forum takes the cake for me.

I would just like to take a moment to point out that 7even is not an actual name. The US does not allow numbers or symbols in a legal name.

    Or, you know, they weren't.

I was actually thinking this as well.  I was suprised no one brought this up in the other thread.

I did google quickly and it sems like there are some states in which you can name your child "Seven" but not "7".  So I guess that means that there might be some states where you can use a numeral in your child's name.  Anyone know for sure?

If this was a family name for us, I would do it in a heartbeat.  Love it.

  • I'm not a regular on this board, but I couldn't help but chime in. This name is not that odd. What made it odd was that it was strange fit for this little boy. Ok, so in my ds's preK class last year there was a boy named KareemAbdul. All one word. Mom insisted the teacher and TA call him KareemAbdul. Not Kareem. Not Abdul. It had to be KareemAbdul. Now with this name you'd think this little boy was of Mid Eastern descent. Even with the last name Garcia, I assumed mom was from the Mid East. Nope! I saw both parents at report card pick up. Both parents were Central American. I'm from Central America. I can spot a paisano when I see one. I guess dad was a really big basketball fan.
  • Mine aren't super crazy (or urban legend/myth), but in high school I knew a set of four sisters named Lara, Tara, Sara, and Mara.  Oh, and I also went to high school with a Jack Daniels.  Could be a coincidence, but that kid sure got teased a ton.

My great-great-grandmother's name was Cindyrilla.  She had 12 daughters, and apparently ran out of girl names because she named my great-grandmother DiAmy, after her 2 oldest daughters, Diana and Amy.

I saw on FB that a college friend named her twins Chiquitita and Fernando, (ABBA and Mamma Mia!), but I'm hoping that those are just little pet names, and that she's just not saying their real names on the web.

My first "real" job after college was tracking statewide school bus logs. I saw the following:
    ShaPrincess
    LePrince
    D'quan - and about 8 other spellings
Jermajesty (not just for Jacksons anymore)

    Stop the madness!

  • Hmmm, my comment above is smooshed in with the comment I was quoting.

The OrangeJello comments need to STOP, you are a fool if you really think that someone that you know, knows him and his brother LemonJello.
  • My mother went to school with Crystal Ball.  Crystal's father's nn was Cue (no joke).

Have you read or seen Freakonomics?  There's a whole bunch of ways to spell Unique, too.

DH's Cousin's niece is Renez-Mai. Like a weird/wrong spelling of the name from Twilight. That's the worst IRL name I've come across. I also know a brother and sister named Stone and Raven, which to me are odd choices, but not bad.

  • I've seen Daquiri and Aquanetta on customer lists before.

IRL, I met a woman about a year ago named Velvet. She worked in CS for an airline. She was really helpful, so my husband asked what her name was, wanting to write to employer to let them know she had given us great service. He was like, "Velvet, you said?" Lol.

  • We had a guy submit a resume at work and his name was Rusty Colon. Also, Someone that works at my company is name Shadynasty. She pronounces it Sha-dynasty but I can't help but think of her as Shady-nasty!
  • Sesame Street as a FN. I saw this on a verified bill of particulars for one of the cases my company handled, so I know it's the legal name.

Went to school with a "Blue Berry Pancake". Yes that was the full name. His grandma was my 2nd grade teacher with the same last name of Pancake.

My favorite, so far as a teacher, was "Iz'Unique". Saw it on the records and it wasn't a nickname.
