Anyone have granulation tissue at their 6 week PP visit?

I just had my 6 week PP visit and the doctor thought it was odd that I was still bleeding a little bit. He said for breastfeeding moms, bleeding should stop at 4-6 weeks. So he was looking to see what could be causing it. He said that I have a spot that didnt heal properly where my stitches were. Either a stitch came out or my body rejected it. He said it was granulation tissue. So he used silver nitrate and cauterized it. I have to go back again in a month to see if it healed correctly. Has anyone else been told they have this?

  • I know what you mean, the doctor told me to do 3-4 sitz baths a day and I'm like how am I going to find time to do that many a day with a newborn!? Thanks and good luck to you too!

  • It wasn't horribly painful. It just stung and the stinging lasted a couple hours. It was nothing compared to stitches pain.
