Baby Bedding - anyone know what they want?

I'll only get a new crib bedding set if we have a girl - as I already have DS set that can be used again.

Anyways - just wondering if anyone has looked into this and where they plan on getting their set. (love to see pics)

With DS I found it really useful to be able to get extra crib sheets as those get changed alot. His set is the Lambs and Ivy Jake set - which is still available I think.

I've been starting to look and dream but no decision yet. Right now I'm really liking the Lambs and Ivy Enchanted Forest or Echo themes although we might bypass the "set" and just go with the fitted sheets and get a few accessories to tie the room together (wall decals since we probably will keep the caramel colored walls and not repaint).

I'll be making our crib sheets. I know what I want but can't find it in stores LOL So I'll but the fabric and custom make them. Then I'll buy some plain sheets for just in case, in the same color theme.

We're team green. This is the bedding set I want (it's only the bed skirt, two fitted sheets, and two halo sleep sacks) but it's all the things we need and none of the extra stuff we won't use (bumper or blanket)

That could turn into a lot of work LOL I'm hoping to get all the bedding done in a weekend. It could be super cool and I'd be interested in trying, if I weren't taking a full course load and had DD LOL

We're just doing a skirt and fitted sheets as well. Depending on what theme we decide, I might ask MIL to help make them since she's been so into crafting lately and does a great job.

This time around I will only be buying fitted sheets if we have a boy. I bought a crib set for DD and as much as I loved it, I really only used the sheet.

For DS, we just did a crib skirt, a crib sheet, and an embroidered blanket (that still has yet to be used) from Restoration Hardware's Baby & Child line. I bought extra crib sheets of Carter's, Circo (in Target), and Gerber brands to keep around.

We did end up buying one of those "Breathable Baby" mesh bumpers because DS kept dropping his pacifier in the middle of the night outside of the crib slats, and searching on the floor in the dark at 2 AM for a freakin' pacifier is no fun.

We'll most likely do the same thing this time around - buy a crib skirt, some sheets, and get something monogrammed/personalized, and a mesh bumper. That's about it, so far.

I'm also on the "I'll make my own" train. I make quilts and the like for all my friends babies when they are born... I'm excited to finally make for my own! If we have a boy, he will use the sheets from DS. If we have a girl we will find some hopefully inexpensive sheets that match whatever we decide to do in the room. We probably won't buy a whole bedding set this time because we didn't use much of the one we bought for DS.

I don't like anything too cutesy so I think I will probably just go with something from PBK, either Dahlia or Simone. I really love their Quinn collection but I think it may have been discontinued but if I can find that somewhere, I will get that. We're probably going to get everything except the bumper - we'll drape the quilt on the back of the glider rocker.

My mom will make our crib bedding. These are the fabrics I will use, along with a solid pink that I haven't found yet. The green fabric isn't my favorite, but we have tons of it already. It was used as table runners at our wedding reception and cost savings and sentimentality trump all else.

I'll just do what I did last time and buy 4 fitted sheets I like. Bumpers and blankets are a safety hazard and SIDS risk, and I prefer the look of our crib without a skirt.

We aren't getting a set. My mom is making a quilt, and we will buy crib sheets. I will get a breathable bumper. BOOM! Done!

They are to protect the child from hurting themselves on the wooden slats... The traditional ones are considered a suffocation hazard but I think something is necessary to protect a child when they are old enough to move around a lot in the crib.
