December 2013 Moms

So, my bed popped. [PIP]

So, as many of you have already guessed, I sleep on an air mattress.
Late last night around 2 am I heard a REALLY loud pop.
I woke up freaking out as I sank to the floor and moments later realized my neck hurt to even move.
Turns out the bed popped under my neck, no clue how, but it did.
And seriously, it hurts more than it should. ):

Today is not my day, guys..

After a series of unfortunate events that ended with my roommates changing the locks on me and having to call the police to get my things, I winded up staying at my fathers until my new apartment goes through the paperwork. When I left the last place I only had 10 minutes to get in, grab everything I could, and get out before the police left and a fight broke out. In the midst of the drama I had to leave my furniture and ended up losing half of everything I own.

Seriously, it was just one big drama fest.

Basically in summary, I'm staying at my fathers on an air mattress in his living room. It sucks, but it's a place that's safe for baby and I until I hear back on Tuesday about my apartment application. /:

  • Whoa.  That's quite a big bruise or abrasion! Ok, so did the mattress popping there cause the injury on your neck or did sinking to the floor cause that? It's kind of hard to imagine either doing that.

I honestly don't know which one did it. When the mattress popped, it like seriously exploded. That's the easiest way I can put it. It popped right about neck level. When I went to the rest room to check my neck I didn't see anything except for the spot turning red and went back to sleep on the floor. When I woke up this morning I had this nasty mark on my neck. In all honesty, I'm very confused as to how either of them caused this either, but of course it wasn't there before falling asleep so it's the only explanation I can give for it. It seriously hurts too.

Omg, yes, why are you on an air mattress!? That looks painful :( Take some aspirin tylenol, I hope it feels better!!!
Sorry about all the furniture drama. Hope you get the new place!
Also, ouch, I don't even know how to treat that. Neosporin?
I may try that if I get brave enough to touch it. I did once to see if it hurt and I regretted it so much, haha. Hopefully it'll go away soon. Today though I have to track down some rubber bands because even my hair falling on it is horribly uncomfortable. I'm annoyed with it because I don't think it should hurt as bad as it does. ):

  • Maybe make an appt to see your general doc if it doesn't improve? There might be some medicated ointment that's safe during pregnancy. It looks really bad. :(

  • Oh my gosh, ouch!!!  That looks like some major "rug burn" if that's where the mattress actually popped.  Make sure you visit the doctor.  IMO that's a big enough scrape to have looked at.  Feel better soon!

I would definitely call the manufacturer. That really shouldn't have happened.

Hope things improve, soon. Sounds like a lot going on. FX for your apartment application.

FWIW, I slept on an air mattress for the last 2 months of my pregnancy with DS. It was more comfortable than our crappy mattress.

  • Feel better soon. I bruise easier while pregnant and hurt longer so try to take care!
  • Thanks girls! I'm going to the doctor first thing in the morning. Maybe they can track down exactly where and how in the night it got there. I've been putting in neosporn (sp?) but it hasn't lightened up any yet. I think I'm definitely going to write a letter. The mattress is only 2 months old, and I'm not rough on it at all, so it shouldn't have popped regardless. Hopefully it gets better tonight and I can have a less painful tomorrow

Also, in bad news, I heard back from my apartment early. I didn't get the place because Someone else's application went through before mine. Time to try again ):

All I can say is I'm thankful I have a place to stay for now, even if it does come included with a crappy air mattress. Lol.
