Aunts & Uncles

I'm just full of curiosity this morning. How many aunts and uncles will LO have? Any outliers age wise? Ours will have 8 - 3 aunts, 5 uncles. DH and I are both the oldest. There are two adults, 5 teenagers, and a 3 year old.

LO will have 2 uncles and 2 aunts. My two brothers are 10 and 12 years older than me and my sister is 3 years younger than me. DH's sister is 4 years younger than me and 6 years younger than DH.

eta: pregnancy brain, I forgot about all the spouses of my siblings.

So really, LO will have 2 uncles in my brothers, 2 aunts in their wives, 1 aunt in my sister, 1 uncle in her husband, and 1 aunt in DH's sister...Grand total of: 3 uncles, 4 aunts

I'm an only child and DB just has one sister who just got married, so LO will have one aunt and one uncle.

Our kids will have 3 biological uncles and then, assuming they all get married, three aunts.

DD will have 7 - 3 uncles and 4 aunts...all in their 20s-30s. Unofficially, she'll have tons because we've been calling friends aunt or uncle so and so.

My LO will have 3 aunts and 3 uncles. The youngest uncle is currently 11 but he already has 2 nephews and a niece so he is a pretty good uncle. Most of my sibling's and DH's siblings are close in age but my mom go baby hungry when I was 17 and so my baby brother was born.

Lo will have one aunt and two uncles. Eventually they will get married so three uncles and two aunts. Ages are 23, 25, and 38. I have one sister, and FI has two brothers. One has cerebral palsy and isn't functioning on his own.

LO will have three uncles and two aunts. I have one younger brother and DH has two older brothers and their wives.

Other than my brother I'm the youngest of the bunch. I'm ten years younger than my H and his brothers are 2 yrs and 7 yrs older than my him.

8 total: 4 siblings (one of which is 13), two in-laws and two step siblings. However, they will spend most of their time with only 4 or 5.

2 aunts and 1 uncle. My sister is 10 years younger then me and SO's sister is 1 year younger and her husband is the uncle. She will also have 1 cousin who just turned one last week!

On my side, one aunt when he is born and one uncle shortly after (my sister is getting married in November). On DH's side, 5 aunts and 3 uncles. One of dh's brothers passed away and his family is still close with his widow. He also has a sister who is divorced and has not remarried. They range in age from 32 to early 40's.

On my side 1 aunt (my sister) and 1 uncle (her husband), they are both 22.

DH side (who will probably not meet baby for ages, they live far away and we never see them), 1 aunt and 3 uncles. All in their 30's.

Our kids have 2 uncles and 2 aunts (my sis & her husband and DH's bro & his wife). There aren't any huge outliers age-wise. Of the 6 of us, DH is the oldest (turning 40 next month) and my sis is the youngest (30).

Including spouses, LO will have 5 aunts and 5 uncles. More if a few other siblings get married. They range in age, the oldest is 35, the youngest is 18.

2 aunts and an uncle, plus an uncle by marriage on my side. 16 aunts and uncles (plus their spouses for those who are married in DH's side). I still can't name all of DH's brothers and sisters after being together for 6 years but in my defense I haven't met them all either.

On my side baby will have 1 aunt (my sister) and 1 uncle (her husband). They are also expecting their first baby due Jan 2014.
On Dh`s side baby will have 2 aunts and 3 uncles.

4 aunts 7 uncles 10 great uncles 15 great aunts ( approx). I lost count. Husbands fsm is pretty big.

DH comes from Burkina Faso in Africa where polygamy is still happening. So his 16 brothers and sisters are from 3 moms, but still that is a lot per mom. The age range is somewhere between 20 and 65. No clue how many cousins LO has on that side.

DH and I each have a brother and a sister. My older sister is engaged, so her partner will be an uncle. So I guess 2 aunts, and 3 uncles now.

You just reminded me that shortly after DD was born, some (not even close) friends tried to dub themselves aunt or uncle. It really irritated me, and I guess it showed because they all stopped doing it.

My girls have 7 aunts and uncles: 2 aunts and 2 uncles biologically, 2 aunts an 1 uncle by marriage.

LO will have one uncle and two aunts (my little sis is not married yet!). And she will only have one cousin. DH and I both only have one sibling so we're a smaller family.

DH has no family, and I try to stay away from my family as much as possible. But I have one brother, so she will have an uncle that she probably won't see very often. In terms of "faux family"., She's going to have so many aunts and uncles that love her already I can't even count (my friends are the best family I've ever had).

@kateisgreat We're only allowing very close friends to take on the title of aunt or uncle. All other friends will be Mr. or Miss so and so (for respect).

My 2 brothers and my brother's wife. FI is an only child. That's pretty crazy for me to think about; My parents both came from large families so I had 11 aunts and uncles- not counting their husbands and wives.

Two of my siblings are teenagers, the rest are mid twenties.

LO will have two aunts, one uncle, although that may turn into two uncles soon. I have one sister, 34, her DH, 36, and then they have two kids, 5 and 1, who I adore as if they were my own!
DH has one sister 26, and she is very seriously dating someone (and moving to australia to be with him) so he may become an uncle in the near future.
We are both super close to our families.
And my 3 best friends who will be "honorary" aunts

LO will have one aunt and one uncle (my siblings). He will also have three great uncles and four great aunts. In addition to them he will have two great, great aunts and one great, great uncle. All of these members on my side of the family. DH is an only child and his extended family isn't close at all and don't really "count" (his words) as family.

LO will have four cousins total (sister has 4 and is "fixed" :P and brother will most likely never have kids... just dogs

). The oldest cousin will be 15 in August, youngest will be 7 in November (I'm 9 years younger than my sister, hence the big gap!)

That's what we do too. I may have been a *tad* over emotional after DD was born, but I was seriously offended that these few people tried to have aunt/uncle status and felt like they were having some boundary issues

My dad's girlfriend had originally taken the title (on her own accord) of "Auntie Paula" for my sister's kids. My sister and BIL kept telling the kids "She's not Auntie Paula, she's just Paula". How creepy is that? NOW... because of this LO... she wants to be known as "Nanny Paula". Yeah, no thanks. You're just Paula. If my dad puts a ring on it (doubt it, he's still technically married to my mother, no such thing as legal separation in the Commonwealth of Mass) then MAYBE we can talk about a title. Until then... first name only! Talk about boundary issues...

6 aunts and 3 uncles, could add 3 more uncles when my little sisters (5 or more years younger than myself) get married. I have 4 siblings and DH has 2 with 3 of our siblings married.

5 here- 3 aunts and 2 uncles ages 26 to 32 (my single Mohawk wearing sister from Toronto- she will be the cool aunt, DH's sister and husband, and DH's brother and wife). DH's sister is due in October, so that will be his first cousin. Our LO is the first grand baby on both sides so no other cousins yet.

Three uncle's living, one of my brothers passed 8 years ago, and a wopping 6 aunts. Only one aunt is from dh's side. I have a huge family. She will also have one cousin from his side and 12 from mine.
