I have an appt in Thursday with my High Risk. Last time I saw her two wks ago my cervix was 2.8 now last wk it's 2.2.
I've been complaining to her about mild contractions since 18wks which I think is what's effecting my cervical length.
18wks. 4.5cm
19wks 4.2cm
21wks 3.2cm
21wks 2days 2.8cm
22wks 2.6cm
23wks 2.2cm
My cervix hasn't found a steady length which scares me. I still have about 1.3cm below the cerclage which I feel confident may hold.
This is my thought tell me if you would go the same route.
I want to ask my dr on Thursday if she can admit me in the hospital until I make it to 28wks also if she can start me on procardia for the contractions. I feel she isn't very proactive. If my cervix is shorten every check up wouldn't it be smart to try and interven with something that will minimize the contractions and help stablize the cervix? She is a good dr but I hold a huge sour feeling towards her because I was under her care when I loss my son. I would complain about contractions and pressure and she would brush if off as normal pregnancy symptoms.
I really want to be stern and take the bull by its horns now that I still have a chance. I have another cervical ck on Friday and just scared. I have been on bedrest since 21wks. I don't know if how I am doing it is considered strict or modified but I only get up to shower, use bathroom, appts and occtionally open door for my nurse. I will be 24wks on Wednesday and can't stop thinking about this...
How would you approach this if you were in my shoes?
Re: Bedrest ladies what's your opinion ::long mobile user::::
When I read ya ladies stories and how much your drs try to help and it makes me sad because I feel like I am getting shit treatment. With my history I think she needed to approach this more aggressively. At least act like she cares.
My doctor told me if I have more than 5 contractions in an hour consistently, then I should go to l and d. You don't need her permission to go.
Even though my bh aren't always painful they do cause me to dilate. It is possible your contractions are causing changes in your cervix. If that is true, then you need to stop them quickly.
Trust your instincts, and go to l and d if you feel you need to.
The thing is I am being seen by a huge practice. It's hard to find a dr that's not in affiliated with them unless I travel to manhattan which is a no no because its a mission with horrible parking. If I take the train its an hr ride :-(
Is there a requirement to be admitted into labor and deliver? Do I need to complain about server pain or something?
