i'm hoping at least 2 years, but basically going for as long as i can!
I breastfed both of my little ones for at least 2 years (just over). My mother had breast cancer and my LaLeche consultant told me that there was a research study done that concluded a woman who BF'd for 2 years was 50% less likely to develop breast cancer than a woman who only BF'd for one year. I'm not sure of the details or how much of that was true, but I figured it sure couldn't hurt my risk factor

I have breastfeed 3 of my children for 2 years each and one for 3 years I am currently breastfeeding my newborn and plan on nursing him for at least 2 years but that's just me personally . I always in the beginning set short term goals so it doesn't seem overwhelming

This is really interesting! I hadn't heard that the length of time BF impacted the lowered risk of cancer. I might have to change my thought on how long to BF!
Re: how long are mom's planning to BF?!
