Minnesota Girls Come on in!

Are any of you being good Minnesotians and complaining about the weather today? Its super windy, cloudy and 60 degrees down where I am. I kind of hope it rains for the sake of the farmers (FIL and DH farm) and we all seem to sleep better when it pours out.

Whats it like everywhere else in the state? I think we have someone in the different major areas.

Re: Minnesota Girls Come on in!

  • I'm at work just south of the metro, it's about the same here, and I loooooooooove it!!! I love the cool weather, I felt like I was going to explode if someone poked me due to all the swelling from the heat and humidity. I am seriously hoping it rains, I just love the before and after smell and sleeping through it, even if it makes our backyard a mosquito infested lake. But then again, I get to pretend we have water front property until it dries up!

  • Currently 68 and a mix of sun and clouds here in Woodbury!  I won't ever complain about the weather if it is greater than about 45 degrees.  I just hate the cold!!I would take 68 for 11 months out of the year.  The other month, it better be about 80 ;)

I think I might get me some Chipotle for lunch and eat outside.

Not from MN but I'm right next door....Wisconsin (GO PACK!) Anywho, we're experiencing about the same. It just got to 70, rainy, and this weekend it's supposed to be in the 60's. As long as the winter coats, hats, mittens stay in the closet I'm fine with that.
If you are WI and enjoy the Packers, get up off this thread!! ;)  However, if you were in WI and a Vikings fan, that would be different.

  • Dont get me wrong, I like this. For me its sweater weather but after it being 85+ and humid last week to a complete shift to this is baffling! Trust me, I wouldnt be mad if it stayed like this until winter.

A Vikings fan in WI; we would put you on a pedestal! But alas, a Pack fan... we don't take kindly to your type around these here parts... haha

It's supposed to be in the 50's this weekend.
Yay! I think I'm overly excited about this. Dh can finish the deck if it doesnt rain and start on the next set of projects. EEk

Our plan is lots of outdoor stuff too. I don't remember exactly where you are (SW?) but it's not supposed to rain here, last I checked. I'm excited to take the window unit out of our bedroom window (we have a 1.5 story and sleep in the attic), and sleep in the cool air.

Yep, SW just outside of Marshall. Thats kind of too bad as the farmers could use a good soaking right now. Our windows are open now and it just feels so nice in here. I wanted to air the house out for awhile but it would get soo hot so quickly in here.

@nicknshan are you working today? I have like 3-4 questions to ask you but if you're working I'll just text you later.

  • @jocelynb0911 I am working - but you can both me at anytime.  I <3 distractions.

  • Mid-60s and overcast in central MN and I'm loving it! I went for a (slow) run a little bit ago and finished just before we got some light showers, but they are passing quickly! The wind is GREAT when it's at my back, but it certainly makes it more challenging to run when it's coming from any other angle. I would love these temps through the beginning of September, then perhaps a bump up to mid 70s for a month and then it can be fall again!! :)

  • Ugh - I have to disagree!  I'm a displaced Texan and I want to spend my summer months actually feeling the sun on me!

As long as it's not coat weather, I know I shouldn't complain...but we are headed north for the weekend and I had really looked forward to a good swim in the lake - I think it may be too chilly. Whine whine whine.
  • I'm working at a park today with preschoolers and was excited to get the kids outside on the playground without sweating my butt off. Then it rained. Oh well, I'll take this over sticky and humid any day!

The swim will feel great!! I am sure the lake water will be warmer than the air.  The natural up north sauna :)

This would definitely be an exception, so whine on! I do hate when I have lake plans and the air is too cool to make it sound appealing! @NicknShan is right about the lake water depending on how far north you're going! Bring your suit and a nice, big towel and give it a shot. It could turn out to be very relaxing!!

WI lady here, too- but don't worry, I'm not a Packer fan.

It's freezing and rainy and gross- and it looks like we're getting 60's all weekend. Is it weird that I'm kind of ok with that?

Fair enough!  I'll put my big girl swimsuit on and quit complaining :)

I am OK with anything you have to say... especially the not being a Packers fan part!  But I agree with you.  I absolutely love the rain!!
