I'm going to attempt a version either Tue or Wed of next week. I go to AWOG and my main doctor is Dr. Hood but I think Dr. Sternberg is going to do it. Anyway, just curious if anyone has had one done at Piedmont and what your experience was. Thanks!
I tried one with my first baby because she was breech. It was at Northside, not Piedmont. I would imagine it is pretty similar. I wasn't allowed eat anything the day of the procedure just in case it sent me into labor. You have to sign pretty much all the papers as if you were there to give birth. They gave the drugs to relax the muscles, and I felt like I was drunk and hopped up on 5 Red Bulls at the same time. It was not a pleasant feeling. Once the drugs kicked in, they tried the version. Frankly, it was an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. It was unsuccessful, but I was glad that I tried it. Good luck and T&Ps to you!
Eager to see replies! Looks like you are about a week ahead of me, and LO is also breech for me. I also go to AWOG and Dr. Sternberg is my normal doctor (love her!). We have talked about trying this if she doesn't turn on her own. Why is Dr. S doing it, is she better at it/have more experience than the other doctors? Or is it just luck of the draw of who is on call?
Please keep us updated on how it goes!!!
I have been doing all the Spinning Babies stuff, and seeing a specialist chiropractor in an effort to get her turned but nothing has worked so far. I am going to be super pissed if the reason I end up with a c/s is because she is breech!
I'll let you know how it goes! I am scheduled for Tuesday at noon. They told me to be there at 11am and that I couldn't eat after 4am. I'm not sure why Sternberg is doing it but I'm fine with it...I don't think I had ever seen her before but I liked her! She said her and dr cox seem to have a good success rate for some reason so I guess both of them will be there.
Aw, that stinks it didn't work. I'm glad to hear it wasn't painful. If this baby hasn't turned herself by the end of 38w I think I am going to try it too.
Did Dr. Hood deliver Reese? I'm going to have to be induced most likely, trying to figure out which doctor to go with if I can't do Dr. Sternberg. Looks like my other options are Cox, Biggs, and Seigal. Any thought on any of them?
Yup I'm scheduled for a c section now which is fine I just wanted to at least try to get him to flip.
That.just.happened...dr. Cox actually delivered Reese since she just happened to be the on call dr the night my water broke. No complaints with her whatsoever. Dr Hood has been my doctor since 2005 though and I really like her as well.
