I think it's ridiculous when parents complain about the behavior of their child/children when it is a direct result of their own choices. When parents complain about not being able to sleep because their bed sharing kid kicked them all night makes me roll my eyes.
Coffee with real half and half is so good. Any attempt at healthier versions (milk, ff half and half, non dairy creamer) is never as good. I usually use milk and H bought the real stuff last week. There is just no comparison.
I hate soggy foods. The thought of soggy cereal makes me want to vomit. I don like bread pudding or anything like that. Blech. Yuck. Just no.
Agreed about soggy cereal but bread pudding?
I can't do food at the wrong temperature. It has to be served whatever temp it's supposed to be so no cold pizza and no warm pudding. I prefer potato salad and pasta salad room temp though.

I agreed with you until you said something about bedsharing. Sometimes children just don't sleep well by themselves. I gave up 9 months of sleep because ds screamed bloody murder if he wasn't next to me. I complained about lack of sleep, not because of my parenting choice, but because of his temperment.

I hate marshmallows and whip cream, it's been this way since I was very little. Watching someone eat a marshmallow will literally make me vomit. I really hope my child doesn't like them!

WHAT?! I love both. So very, very much. Do you like Rice Krispie bars?
My UO is that I think I'm nearing the end of my time with TB. I'm annoyed with a lot of things about it now. I don't plan on some dramatic GBCB. I just plan on stepping out quietly. I like the FB group a lot better now anyway.

I don't judge anyone that bedshares, that is your decision. I agree with @LindsayDesigner it is a choice that parents make. I get that some babies don't sleep well by themselves. We have all been through the sleepless nights but at a point, it is a choice to let them be in the bed with you. I am really glad that Leah sleeps in her own bed. I do strongly think parents should choose to parent in thier own style and stand by it, don't let others sway you. Unless it relates to vaccines, then completely different and you need to do it.
How do you tag? As for the vaccines, if everyone vaccinated, I wouldn't be subjected to the PSA commercials here about pertussis where they show you what a baby with it looks/sounds like. I did my part so I don't want to see it.

Amen to this. Even whole milk doesn't do the trick.

This. Amen. Although I was lambasted a few months back for saying the exact same thing. It is YOUR choice. You made it, so live with it. If you don't care for your current situation, then seek constructive solutions instead of whining.
I have several friends who constantly post rants about their children's behavior on FB but don't want to make any changes. (For example, there is one who spent months 8-12 of her child's life whining about how hard it was to BF him.) Contrast that with friends who honestly ask for advice and get some good solutions, make a change, and improve their situation. I love that kind of FB post because I actually get ideas, too! That is why I like this board - people ask for advice and solutions.
@ Baker_ Bride Yes ma'am! I think you and I could both share a soapbox. @mmdailey You better kiss me, you're gonna miss me when I'm gone! Seriously, stay. I like you. A lot. @JnMac83 You're weird but, probably a pituitary kind of weird. I've never had bread pudding. It sounds nasty. Cereal is best sogged. Kiss it sister. @ LindsayDesigner I get it. Sometimes people need to vent. I can be judgy about that too. It's hard to hear your kids cry in the MOTN. I never had co sleeping babies but, still. Sleep training was so effing hard. On me. I think sometimes ppl complain here because it's a safe place to vent. @Lgamache90 We could all be soulmates
My UO would be I miss TB the way it used to be. The FB group is cool and all but I find it a little overwhelming. Maybe 'cause I'm an old fart and hate change. LOL
I think it's ridiculous when parents complain about the behavior of their child/children when it is a direct result of their own choices. When parents complain about not being able to sleep because their bed sharing kid kicked them all night makes me roll my eyes.
Yeah, I think that was one of my UOs a while back. Such as...when I go to the AP board and see post after post for sleep help, well...I think that says something. I don't think there's anything wrong with AP approaches to sleep if that's your choice, but I think it's a long-term commitment, like you better not mind them sleeping in your bed for a loooooong time. Otherwise, I think you're just making everyone's lives harder in the end.
But, who knows what I would have done with a child with a different temperament. DS slept best in his crib and always had. RE: sleep training...he sleeps great and always has (well, not the first first weeks) so I've not had to make those hard decisions.
@piphigirl, @melmarie26, @jayandemm I guess I could have used the example of poor eating habits that mirror the parent's habits. Or undisciplined kids running wild. I understand that we all have different parenting styles and attitudes.
I don't understand the mentality behind giving your child motrin or tylenol at the slightest rise in temperature.
If your child is sick, the fever is their body working to kill whatever bad thing is in their body. Reducing the fever usually prolongs the problem.
I don't obsessively check for fevers or anything, but if I pick her up and she's super hot and clearly miserable I'll definitely tylenol it up. It's not so much the fever, I just don't want her to feel crummy if I can help her out, KWIM?
Ummmmmm.....I guess my UO is that the facebook group is cool and all, but I prefer it here. It's too hard for me to keep up over there, I like the message board format better.
OH! This one might be unpopular as well, since I think a lot of people find the site hilarious. I think the posters on Get Off My Internet are some of the most pathetic people I've come across. If you hate a certain blog so much, why on Earth do you obsessively read it and post about it on a separate forum? I don't understand the urge to foster negativity that proudly. If I don't like a poster on a forum or a blogger or whatever, I just pretend they don't exist. Keeps my stress levels down, keeps me from being a hateful snatch for no reason. Problem solved!
@LindsayDesigner - Amen on the eating habits! I always hear, "My kid will only eat chicken nuggets and macaroni!" Then why are these items still on the table? Say no. You are the parent. Also, what are you, the parent, eating? That sets a huge example!
@Scout2005, I complained when H bought it in the first place and then about threw myself a pity party this morning when I realized there wasn't any left. Plain milk is so not the same.
I eat my cereal as fast as I can because I hate soggy cereal so much.
I agree about parenting choices that people complain about. I know someone who has 3 kids in their bed because she can't tell them no, but complains. My SIL complains her son doesn't eat veggies, but they don't either.
My UOs: I don't like cream soda. I've never seen Pulp Fiction, and I have no interest in it.

I get a bit touchy about this, but I don't really complain to others about it, so I know it's not really a comment directed at me. We mostly bedshare, and I so wish he would sleep in his crib. For awhile he was doing well in his crib, but now he's pretty much back to our bed. Cry it out isn't an option for us because of his heart condition. I attempt putting him in his crib every night and for every nap, and occasionally he'll be fine, but most times he'll start screaming and then we'll bring him to the bed bbecause we can't let him cry hard for long periods.
And for food...I'm very frustrated by our feeding situation. He rarely eats anything that isn't in a pouch, with the exception of little bits of a very limited number of finger foods. Yes, I could stop giving pouches, but then we'd have to get a feeding tube because we don't have much wiggle room for him not eating enough. We introduced pouches a few months back at the advice of his gi when there was discussion of putting him on a feeding tube. It's not always true that they'll eat if they're hungry.
And if you saw my baby out in public, you wouldn't know there are any medical issues going on, so I'm sure I get judged a lot by the pouch use, and if it continues into toddler hood, I'm sure we'll be judged even more.

I don't think anyone on here would ever judge you for these things. Sometimes you have to do whatever it takes to keep a sane household. While, ds doesn't have medical condition, I don't let him cry long. He almost always works himself up to a vomit and doesn't calm down. He's in his bed for the most of the night these days; I guess he outgrew bedsharing on his own. But I still lay with him for naps a lot. I like baby snuggles.

Re: UO
Well, in case TB ever starts working again, I'll throw out mine. I have a few this morning.
- Cereal should only be eaten soggy. How can people expect so much out of their teeth first thing in the morning?
- I don't like super fluffy or new towels. I don't think they absorb water as well as worn towels.
- I don't like cold cuts right out of the fridge, I like them sort of room temp (not really safe I know...)
- I don't get why some people swear all the time. Once in a while, fine. All the time? It sounds trashy.
DH and I married 8 years. Mom of three, stepmom of one.
I can't do food at the wrong temperature. It has to be served whatever temp it's supposed to be so no cold pizza and no warm pudding. I prefer potato salad and pasta salad room temp though.
