I am about 6 weeks along and have already had my first prenatal appt. The midwife was very nice but for my lifestlye (tirathlete, runner, backpacker) she wasn't very knowledgable on the issues I need answers. Also, she was very soft spoken and quiet which doesn't jive super great with my own personality. Does anyone have a midwife in the healthpartners system that they LOVED? I'm open to all suggestions, they don;t have to neccesarily be active, outdoorsy people.
Thanks!
Hannah
Re: Midwife recomendations in the Healthpartners system
Congratulations! I'm also a runner and a backpacker and have found that I've been able to stay pretty active :-)
I don't have any experience in the Healthpartners system but I'm really loving the midwives we've seen with the Healtheast system. They've been beyond great in encouraging me to stay active and helping me to know my limits.
my read shelf:
I go to the Health Partners Clinic For Women and see Edith Ziegler, CNM. I love her. She is upbeat and fun, very personable. Always gives me good perspective and takes her time. I definitely feel at ease with her. I also love that when I check or get blood drawn in the receptionist or the lab tech usually make a comment like, "Oh we love Eddy!" or "Oh, you get to see Eddy, isn't she the best?" That says a lot to me about her character. I must say though, she does have a bit of a peculiar voice. Think like Julia Childs. My husband finds it hilarious. Keep in mind though that H. Partners uses a rotating mid-wife team for deliveries so you wont necessarily see her during the actual birth.
Here is her bio on their website, but her picture appears old. https://www.healthpartners.com/locator/practitioner/detail.do?personnelId=3096
Yes! I would second this reco . It's an all women's group of midwives, (deliver at fairview riverside) and they are super!! I haven't met Neerland yet, but the others PP reco'd are tops on my list so far too. I'm trying to meet them all as I go through my appts. Good luck!
