Oliver is having heart surgery.

I found out today that the surgical team is recommending heart surgery for Oliver to close the hole in his heart. We were hopeful it would close on its own, but that doesn't appear to be happening. They are supposed to call next week to schedule the surgery, so I think it will take place fairly soon, like within a month or two.

I'm so scared. I knew it was a possibility, but hearing that it is going to happen was like a punch in the gut. I literally feel sick. I'd like to ask for prayers please. I am so totally attached to this kid; I can't bear the thought of him going through this. I know it will probably be harder on us than on him, but I just keep picturing his smiling, happy face and it makes me sick to think of picturing him coming out of such a major surgery.

The heart doctors and the nurses at CHOA are amazing and will take wonderful care of Oliver. Dr. Kogon did an amazing job with Brynn's surgery. I know how hard it is to have to go through such a major surgery, but he is in excellent hands. You will be amazed at how quickly he heals. Lots of T&Ps for Oliver and your family.
