Baby boy is 7 weeks old, we've been CDing for about a month and I'm still working out the wash cycle with my he toploader. Last wash, I pulled out all my prefolds and washed just them on the sanitary cycle because the super hot water I figured would be bad for my covers and shells. The prefolds came out perfectly clean. No smell at all out of the dryer and no funk at all when wet!
I'm wondering if you ladies think it would be too rough on the prefolds to wash them separately on that cycle every time? would the really hot water deteriorate the cotton?
They are gmd prefolds of that matters
Re: super hot wash and prefolds
I've been doing hot washes, though I don't have a sanitary cycle. I just put straight HOT water in from the laundry tub that has a 2ft hose on it.
To make them last longer, or if you plan to use them beyond one child, then perhaps do every other or every third wash like that.
