from edema. Holy cow! BP was elevated today and protein in urine. Doing a 24 hr urine which they should have done weeks ago. This has been a concern for a while and I feel like my midwives have been neglecting it.
Edit: I also want to mention that one of my midwives is pregnant and a week ahead of me. I feel like that has kind of been an issue while addressing my concerns because she is constantly reflecting back to her pregnancy. Ours are very different.

Seriously, there is something wrong.
Yep, always. Ugh.
I know! I am so scared. I just wish my doctor had never moved and I had never needed to switch. Ugh. I just know something is not right.
Oh my, try to rest as much as possible. Are you still working? I would agree, seems like they should be a little more concerned. Take care of yourself!
I have not been able to work in a week.

Thank you! Annnnnd thank you! Haha. I usually have a less puffy face -- I mean, my face is biiiiiiiiiig. I am just hoping for the best, but I can't even get them my urine until Wednesday. I could go into labor before that.
This is not to dismiss your concern, but more to give you hope. With DS1, I also had massive swelling (13lb weight gain over a couple days, flip flops that would no longer fit, welts where there were once ankles, etc.). When I finally went into labor, even the nurses in the hospital kept commenting on my swelling, asking if it was painful, etc.
However, my BP was fine, and I was not spilling protein, so there are certainly differences. I just want you to know that severe swelling is not always a sign of something terrible.
Good luck!
I've been swollen for months and it has just progressed to this.
Yeah, I have bone pain too. I am happy you're experiencing idiopathic edema and hope to be myself. I hope you feel better and thank you for the suggestions!
Thank you for the positive post! I hope the BP was resulting from my pain and everything is OK.
I'm totally expecting stretch marks on my feet. I've never seen it, but really, they are insanely big.
I feel ya! I have been gaining 3 or 4 pounds every week and have been so swollen! My doctor just tells me every time to just stay off my feet. Which is hard to do when I have to work. I do hair and am on my feet a lot. But my feet get so puffy and when I take off my flip flops there are deep indentions in them! I am so sorry you are going through that! I have been waiting for there to be problems with my blood pressure or have protein my urine but there hasn't been. Only a couple more weeks!

If you really, in your heart, feel that something is not right, you should get a second opinion from somewhere. Heck, even go into the ER if you have to. If you are not comfortable with the advice you are getting from your MW, you should trust your instincts.
I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Please keep us updated. T&Ps.
I feel really bad for you! I hope this does not happen to me in this week...Holy swelling.
ETA: question if your midwife is a week ahead of you...how is she going to be able to deliver you? What if she is a week late?
Holy mess, mocha!
This seriously needs to be addressed. I don't think its something not to be concerned about. Edema like that can be bad news for both you and baby.

Ouch! That looks so painful. T and P for you and baby. Keep your feet up and relax as much as possible (I'm sure you've gotten that a lot already).
Oh yuck!
FWIW my mom went through the same thing while pregnant with me, the edema that is. She gained 80 pounds by the time she went into labor with me. Her face was so swollen her cheeks where even with her nose. Her brother came for a visit and walked right by her in the airport; he didn't even recognize her!
Anyway, 40 of it was gone before she left the hospital, another 20 within a week. Needless to say I was scared to death the first time I got pregnant!

Honestly, until recently, this pregnancy was smooth sailin'. The biggest issue has been the swelling and proteinuria. Now these recent couple of weeks, I've been getting a lot of contractions but I guess that's also not a concern of my MWs.
Oh my goodness! Miserable you must be!
I have never experienced any swelling with my pregnancies, thank goodness! Hope you get it all resolved soon and feel better!
I was still doing a moderate workout every day or at least a mile long walk around our park, but I'm told not to anymore. I am to relax and rest as much as possible now according to MW. I also have always drank tons of water which I continue. I don't knooooooooooow what to do.
Glad you're doing better!
