This may have already been asked and posted about to death. But curious as to what other alternatives have been discussed. Other than BM obvs. Suggestions??

Re: Anyone doing WCM alternative?

  • I am doing almond milk. DD has not had any issues with it.

    That is awesome!

I think we'll go for the WCM unless there is an issue.  I do want to see if there is a good organic brand that we can afford.  I don't buy much organic because of the cost, but this is one place where I might spend the money.

  • We're doing almond and coconut milk mixed together. Addie likes the unsweetened vanilla almond milk best and is ambivilant about the coconut milk but the mix gives her the good fats and nutrients she needs

  • We've been doing almond milk for a couple of weeks now.  She like the unsweetened vanilla flavor too.

  • Considering Almond milk - I don't do well with milk myself and drank soy milk for a while and really liked it.   I've heard great things about almond milk.

  • I'm so glad there's some of you doing almond milk.  All we drink is coconut and almond milk at our house and I wasn't sure if it was nutritious enough (although I know milk wont be his main source of nutrition after 1). Thanks ladies!

  • Do you have to do some sort of milk? I guess I didn't think about it until this post, but is it required that you transition from FF or BM to something else? I guess I understand the calcium side, but is it required you completely substitute glass for glass with WCM or some other type?

No your not required to there are lots of options and you just need to do what works best for your family and LO.... BUT you would have to be VERY diligent about your LO getting enough hydration, vitamins, minerals, calcium and healthy fats for brain development. All these things can and should come from their diet but toddlers can some times be picky or go through spurts where they dont want food as much so its nice to know they are getting some nutrition from what ever milk source you choose.
