How many tries for second child?

Hi all! Haven't been on these boards in years. But it happened... Hubby and I have babies on the brain again.

It took 6 cycles to conceive our son (taking the 5th month off to regroup because I was stressed it wasn't happening). Then bam, it happened the 6th month.

How long did it take you fine ladies for your 1st and second positives?

Just want to see if most people took the same amount of time both tries.

First time for all children, this one included. We are extremely, extremely blessed and very lucky... I don't take this lightly and thank God it happened this way for us. I know so many wonderful couples who struggle and it is heartbreaking just watching them go through it.

The first I got pregnant on my first cycle. The second I suppose technically it was the same, but I was diagnosed with pcos and it took me 8 months to ovulate. :-)

Wasn't even trying for #1 .... and took us 15 months for this one. However, my children will be 10 years apart . I was 22 with #1 and now I'm 32. I'm sure that's played a huge part.

I am 27 and Dh is 30. Took me six months to even get a cycle after being on BC for so long. Then we got lucky and it happened on second cycle.

First baby was a surprise. So we didn't actively TTC for her.

This baby boy took 4 months (Started 8/2012 and bfp in 11/16/12).

With DS who is 4 it took us 3 cycles. I was 30 DH was 27. This time it took us 12 cycles one month short of a year of trying. Both times I charted and we had good timing most of the time. This time I started using OPKs half way through. We started IF testing since I turned 35 was going to start treatment in August.

We spent 66 long months TTC with pcos before finally getting my first positive. I'm 6 weeks and have been having brown spotting the last couple of days so I'm scared but keeping in food spirits.

With DD, we got pg the fourth cycle. For number two, we also got pg the fourth cycle, had a miscarriage. Then we got pregnant on the third cycle after that loss and had another miscarriage. We got pg the first cycle out of that loss and now I'm 31 weeks. The journey to number 2 was very different than number 1.

Happened immediately for both pregnancies, after I was told I probably wouldn't be able to have children without the use of fertility meds. Ha! We are so very blessed.

with our first child, we got pregnant on our second month trying, and all was perfect.

this is my 4th pregnancy trying to have #2... i've had two early miscarriages and an ectopic loss so far, and i'm now very newly pregnant with what i'm hoping and praying is the baby we actually get to take home

Thanks everyone for sharing your journeys!!! Its clear that the scenarios vary wildly, Even for those who already have one. Thanks for the info!!! Would still love to hear from others too. As I conceived the first time at age 28, I'm a little worried it will be harder at 31, But I think I've learned to do much better on the stress front this time around.

Took us 2 years to conceive DS, then we got pregnant the first month after he was born.

It took me 5 months to get pregnant the first time. After that, I've gotten pregnant first try every time, except once, it took us two cycles that time. However, I've had a bunch of miscarriages, so it seems to take me about 6-9 months to get successfully pregnant.

I'm 31 almost 32 and got pregnant on my first try for our first. You never know! I thought for sure it'd take us a long time. We actually started sooner because I was so convinced it would take a long time. Haha, shows what I know. But, sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. Can't plan everything!!

With DS it was our first month trying and for this one it was our first month trying, although we were not preventing not trying for a couple mo tha before my BFP.
