Discipline
My mother is really starting to annoy me. She always gives her opinion. Like for instance, how do I plan on disciplining my child. When I told her that I fully believe in what the bible says, sparring the rod, she told me that's abuse. I believe children should be whipped. This is the only way for them to learn and there is no other way. I don't care what anyone says.

I appreciate your honesty. I was spanked as a child and I have spanked my child. People always compliment me on how wellmannered and behaved he is and I attribute that to me not sparing the rod. When I see parents with their out of control children who hit them and talk back to them, my initial thought is...if you spank that child they'll learn some boundaries which is good for you, them, and the world around them. I'm a daycare teacher and there's a distinct difference between the temperament and the ability to follow directions of those children who are occasionally spanked and those who are not. O e parent says her 2 year old doesn't even know what a spanking is and he is our WORST student. He doesn't listen, he does what he wants when he wants and I'm embarrassed for his parents. They look bad. To each his own on thus subject but I was spanked as a child and grew into a respectful adult. Not saying its the only way, but it's not an improper way. Much respect to you and your decision.
