Pregnant after a Loss

Not sure about this..blood pressure too low?

 Not sure..

Just checked my blood pressure.. its 106/60.. that's after running around shopping at the grocery. Is that too low for 1st trimester?  I have been feeling shaky.. but could just be from being nervous about miscarriage.
Going to post this on several boards cause I am worried about it.

I have always had low blood pressure and not sure if that will be bad during pregnancy. One time I was rejected for donating blood because they told me it was too low and would be too dangerous. Needless to say that freaked me out.. then they took my pressure again and it was high enough to donate, lol.

Re: Not sure about this..blood pressure too low?

  • Actually sounds pretty good to me. I was worried about low bp a couple months ago and mine was 88/54. I called my OB about it and while they did bring me in it had more to do with me saying the baby wasn't moving as much the last few days. In the end all was fine and I was given instructions to lay off our bp cuff and just come in if I felt off so I'd quit freaking myself out.

I still take it out of curiosity and it's back to "normal" though I did have a bp of 76/47 one day too....didn't freak me out since I'd already been to the doc weeks before and felt fine. But it's really common for it to be low in the first and second trimester and even in the beginning of the third before it starts climbing back up.

  • That's fine, especially if you normally run low. My bp almost never gets to 100 but it's normal for me. By the end if pregnancy, I did get to 120!

If you're feeling shaky, get some water, sit down for a few minutes and get a snack.

  • That is about where mine has been all pregnancy even now at 29 weeks. I'm sure it's fine. If you start feeling shaky sit down and drink water.

I have a pretty low blood pressure normally, and mine was definitely lower at a few points so far in this pregnancy and caused me to feel dizzy and stuff. I brought it up to my OB and she wasn't really concerned about it.

  • Mine is regularly 90-something/60.  Yesterday, it was 101/60.  My OB has never mentioned it, so I would assume you're fine.  As PPs said, you can get dizzy so just make sure you rest as much as you need to, eat regularly, and stay hydrated.  Otherwise, I don't see a problem.

  • My blood pressure at home is usually 95/56. When I go to the docs it's always higher, I'm always nervous even just check ups. He said not to worry about it. Just relax if I feel it too high or low and try eating something.
