Playtex slow flow nipples way too fast

We used playtex drop ins with our first daughter who was formula fed. This baby is EBF and I'm starting to introduce bottles as I return to work in 5 weeks. We're using the playtex bottles again, I just replaced the nipples. I'm finding that the playtex slow flow nipples are way too fast. I'm holding the bottle parallel to the floor and everything, but it still comes out quickly and she is dribbling the milk everywhere. Should I invest in a different bottle?

  • Dr browns has preemie flow nipples. I'd get a couple different kinds and see what works best.

Thanks! I assume nipples aren't interchangeable and that I'd need to buy Dr. Browns bottles right?

Hmm, sorry I don't know the answer to that one.  I know the nipples you have to buy separately, so maybe get the nipple and try it on the other bottle and see.

  • I recommend the nuk size 1 slow flow for 0+ months. They fit born free bottles or any normal small open top bottles. I tried a lot of brands, including dr browns but had to try nuks before I found one that was super slow. Good luck
