AF low

Dangit! One more issue to deal with. My first two fluid checks were fine at 10 and 12 respectively. Today's was 6 we took two measurements and averaged them since first measurement was 5.2. I'm waiting to meet with OB to review but its not my regular OB in fact never met her before so I'm bummed.
Anyway anyone else dealing with low AF? Btw I get so many fluid checks b/c of GD no reason for those not getting them to think they're missing out on something.

Re: AF low

  • I can't commiserate, but I'm sorry that you are having to deal with all that! Hopefully, you will like the new OB.

  • Mine was low, but continued to get a bit higher each week and now I'm considered "normal." (Took about a month and a half.) I do have to get NST's 2x a week because of that and baby was measuring small.

  • I forget numbers, but found out through our growth scan that mines low too. Head back in a week and if it's even lower they'll induce me. Good luck!

  • How far along are you? I'm mobile. 5 to 6 is pretty low. I was told if mine dropped to 5 or less they would induce right away, but obviously this may not be the case for you based on the situation and how far along you are. Good luck! Thoughts and prayers!

I was told the same. If you go less than 5, its time to deliver. I also get checked due to GD/ IUGR. My levels change all the time. I've been ranging from 7 to 15. T&P for you. Hope young an get your AF a little higher.

  • I had to be induced with DS at 38 w due to low fluid. I also had GD with him.

  • Thanks everyone. I go back Friday to be rechecked. I'm already being checked twice/week but its always been fine. I thought my risk having GD was having high levels of fluid, not low. Shows what I know! Anyway, they did say if its below 5 on Friday that they will induce right away. I"m freaking out as I dont feel ready at all.

Meanwhile I"m pounding water. Like a lot. They said that could help. Any other suggestions?

  • I get mine checked once a week. My number fluctuate quite a bit. Like on one Friday it was at 15 and then Wednesday it was a 10.

I was told to drink lots of water. I aim for at least 100oz a day. I keep a 1L bottle with me. Dr told me to rest whenever possible. Also, fruits/veggies that lots of water: watermelon, cucumber. I find throwing lemon or something in my water helps me drink more b/c water gets so boring!
