Being pregnant does not mean I am disabled....grr. My mother in law has put her foot in her mouth so many times already and now won't let me help move stuff around the house 'cause i shouldnt be lifting that since im pregnant, something might happen to the baby'. Well gee, since i lift weights/ work out and have been cleared by my doc to continue work I'm a nurse and lift people all day long I think I can help out moving stuff around the house. I am not gonna come over and sit inside on a nice day and do nothing because she wont let me help. / end rant

N '13 November Siggy Challenge- Baby Pictures
Yep! I was just thinking the other day this night be my UO this week because I think you should take it easy when you can. I come from a family of women, so there are not men offering to move furniture and stuff for us generally and we manage just fine. But since BFP it has been nice to take it easy when people offer. I lift at work and I'm up and down off the floor all day, so it's nice when I don't have to at home.
What really bothers me is when people act like they can't do any manual labor just because they are women, non preggos that is. I have several friends whose husbands will have a buddy come by to help him rearrange the living room, or move a couch into the garage or something. Seriously?
The only thing that's been a little annoying for me is my mom is recovering from knee surgery and she wants to baby me. So basically we keep arguing over who is more deserving of help, each of us trying to help the other!
Me too!
