Clothes for daycare

For summer weather, what will you all be packing clothing-wise for daycare? Around the house, my DS just wears a onesie, bare feet, and he's fine. A blanket when we're cuddling.

Do they need to be a bit more covered in daycare? Are you packing little pants? Socks? Someone mentioned a hat for going outside which is a good idea.

ETA: Once they get a little older, I can understand wearing a bit more, but at this age -- 2 mos. -- (and with so many diaper changes) full-on outfits are impractical.

Re: Clothes for daycare

  • It tends to be cold in daycare with the AC even though it's hot outside.  I do either onesies with pants and socks, a one piece long pants outfit with socks, a cute cotton sleeper, or a onesie type outfit and bring a sleep sack.

I was just sending him in outfits, but the daycare insisted on something a little warmer for indoor. FWIW DS1 was a winter baby so I never though dressing them in outfits was an issue.  Then again all of his outfits were pants.

  • We did shorts and a onesie with socks and that seemed to be the norm at our daycare for the babies

  • My LO wears onesies with sweatpants and no socks because he tends to lose them and they are hard to label.
