I'm going to be miss health over here and say that fast food restaurants only use 15 or less real beef in their burgers. Which is nasty and doesn't seem to qualify as a real burger to me.
Around here I would go with McDonalds! However, I love White Castles and miss them dearly! We have some good small town drive thrus with good hamburgers too but I can't think of their names!

15 percent... Im mobile
That isn't what the question is!
Lol, I know...
Really though, do you have a source on this stat? I have never heard it before and eat too much fast food if this is really the case. What makes up the other 85%? I need to educate myself!
You've never seen the McDonald's pink slime pictures on the Internet or news? They have fillers and ammonia as a meat cleaning agent. And the beef isn't like the nice beef you get at the grocery store... Unless you like beef intestine.

Nope, I mean it doesn't surprise me that it isn't 100% pure ground beef, but let's be honest what you get at the store isn't the cuts of beef you would normally think is cool to eat either. I just have a hard time picturing only 15% is real beef.

In-n-out hands down. And of course reading about cheeseburgers makes me want one. Now. Too bad I live on the wrong coast now...any one want to ship me one?
Ok so can you use local fast food place grew up in Chickamauga GA and all we has was a McDonald's yuck.
The best there was Central Park, a little drive thru burger stand, or this little drive up BBQ shack that made burgers called Crawfish Springs BBQ. I think I need to go visit my parents soon and get a good burger.
On kind of a side note about Five Guys not having drive thrus, I totally think they should.
I've only been there once, and won't ever go again because, unbeknownst to myself and FI, they have all the peanuts and peanut dust around. I'm severely allergic and once I was inside, I lasted only 5 or so minutes before I had to let FI order because I was getting dizzy and lightheaded from all the peanut smells. There were NO signs of any kind outside to warn us of the peanuts. How was I supposed to know a burger joint would have peanut shells covering the place?
If Five Guys had a drive thru, those of us with peanut allergies who h is MANY people could have the option to go through drive thru. Just a thought!
In amp; Out....double double animal style!!! I crave it fort nightly!
Yessss!!! This exactly! Too bad I'm in KY, but every year when I fly out to work at Santa Anita, I eat there every single day! I'm def In N Out dreaming right now, lol!

That's weird because the three I have been to have HUGE signs everywhere. One of them even has a peanut free patio area.
For HTT: I love in-n-out cheeseburgers. No Sauce, mustard and ketchup, and grilled onions. But there fries leave me kind of sad.

I wish I could believe everything I saw on facebook! Ugh, critical thinking really makes my life a lot less fun.
1) your link didn't work
2) "pink slime" is known as lean finely-textured beef (LFTB) in the meat producer industry, and is essentially in all ground beef. It is either mixed at the packing plant or frozen and sent to grocery stores in pellet form for them to mix in. It is what happens when slaughterhouses process the "rejected fat, sinew, bloody effluvia, and occasional bits of meat cut from carcasses" and process it with ammonia in order to meet USDA standards. Sorry to tell you, but unless you grind your own meat, your homemade patties contain just as much LFTB as McDonalds.
Chill out and eat a burger.
All that info is nasty! And unless its a veggie burger, I won't be touching it. No beef for me

A sign would definitely be nice! But the location I went to, there was none ::mobile sad face::

They use peanut oil to fry. We don't even let DD eat there because the risk of cross contamination isn't worth it for her allergy.
After almost 3 years of IF and a crazy roadside delivery, we are loving life with our second beautiful daughter!

I know they do. I didn't have any fries and ended up not eating the burger I ordered because I was too afraid. Like I said, I wouldn't eat there.
So upon reading this post I immediately craved a cheeseburger and could think of nothing else. Just got back from In and Out.... So much for eating healthy. Soooo yummy! They get my vote!

That's so odd. I have one next to my work AND one next to my house. They both have huge signs out front. They also ask that you don't take any peanuts OUT of the restaurant into the neighbourhood for fear of allergies.
Re: HTT: On a lighter note
More like Tina Truthful :P lol

Can't find the exact article I read about the 15 beef, but it can be googled.

(but Brown Bag Burgers can't be beat! just no drivethru. )
I am very VERY jealous! ::mobile smiley::
How did none of the Canadians on this board step in and say Harvey's? Harvey's makes a hamburger a beautiful thing.
