Trivisol or other vitamin drops

Our pedi said that we need to start giving Maya Trivisol (vitamin A, D, E) twice daily... I went to the pharmacy today and they only had Pedia Essentials multi vitamin drops.  Not sure if these are the same thing... or if I can use these drops over the Trivisol.  Anyone know?

  • I don't know, but we have the TriViSol (Enfamil TriViSol) -- we just got it at CVS. ?I had to ask where it was, though, it was hard to find.

  • how come your pedi advised you to use it? DD's pedi said we could, but didn't have to.?

I also take dd out in the sun for a few minutes everyday. ?

  • She said the AAP (I think) just added it to their guidance for infants.
  • I got Trivisol at Target and I had to ask the pharmacist for it (but the PolyViSol was on the shelf- go figure).

  • Also, I've heard the drops stain, so keep a burp cloth nearby. ?

  • I am not sure,

But just to warn you they taste disgusting and stain. I put DD vitamins in her bottle before she eats it. She would just spit it out and stain her clothes/bibs if I squirt it in her mouth.

  • Our pedi recommended the Poly Vi Sol - its brown and gets all over, I can't wait until she's taking a bottle so I can put it in her bottle, but the good news is that it comes out of clothes!
