Occasionally I mouth breath, and wanted to try temping vaginally. My confusion here is how far up do I go, ha ha. With orally, they give you a suggested place to put the bbt, but I'm not sure what the standard is for the vag.

(The earlier temps were "dummy" temps but I discarded them)

CD 13 is cutting it close, but if your temp stays up I'd be willing to bet that you are right. How long are your cycles usually? I think you need 4 temps prior to Oing for FF to give your crosshairs.

(The earlier temps were "dummy" temps but I discarded them) Apparently I should have read the post prior to this oopsie!

I don't remember how many temps you need pre-O in FF for it to give you CH. But, you can't determine O until at least 3 days after the temp spike. It's not the spike itself, but the sustained temps after O that confirm it.

Ummmm, I just stick it in there. Maybe 1-2 inches? I think as long as the tip is in there, it's good.

CD 13 is cutting it close, but if your temp stays up I'd be willing to bet that you are right. How long are your cycles usually? I think you need 4 temps prior to Oing for FF to give your crosshairs.

My first 2 cycles off the pill were 26 and 27 days.

Yeah just keep it up. If your temp stays up, looks like you caught it!

my close friend has 2 little boys, and of course got KU first try with both. She knows we are trying and asked when I planned on testing. I told her my period is due in 9 days, so hopefully I will wait to test until I am late.
She told me that I should test today, because they have tests that can let you know 10 days ahead of time. I told her no, and tried to explain why...
but she swears that she found out 10 days before her period.
I have been giggling and rolling my eyes at this convo all afternoon.

Oye. To be that naive again!

I'll play. How important is it to temp at the same or close to same time every day? I just started temping a few days ago and my temps are all over the place and FF keeps giving me open circles. I'm a teacher on vacation for another 15 days and I really don't want to have to get up earlier than necessary! Smile

The more consistent you can be, the more accurate your chart will be. That said, plenty of people can still see a shift even if they temp at different times. I suck at sleeping, so I just take my temp the first time during the night when I wake up, because after that I sleep very restlessly. Sometimes it is at 2am, sometimes at 5am. But don't come back whining later if your chart is jacked up lol!

I honestly can't remember if the gummy ones had iron in them or not. Now I take the ones prescribed to me by my RE. I do know that they have the essential things that need to be built up in your system, so you could always talk to your OB about the iron after you get pregnant.

Possibly, at some point.

FWIW, I have a really, really hard time with iron. When I was KU, my MW was fine with the gummies. She said she'd just watch my hemoglobin as I got further along.

I gotcha! Always a good idea to check it out and it's definitely trial and error. Some ladies find that the 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep is more important, some ladies find that the time is more important. The ideal situation is to have both, but it's just not always possible. This is cycle 5 for us TTC. AF usually shows up around 11 dpo but I start spotting at 9 dpo. Do you think this hurts my chances of implantation? Should I talk to my Dr or wait it out?

How do you not get the open circles from doing it at different times? Do you tell FF you temp at the same time every day even though it varies?

Okay, I have a question. If you record drinking in FF by using the checklist part I think it is called symptoms, does it "see" that and look at that temp differently, or is that just for your own info like the notes section you can type into? I didn't know if there was a difference between the 2 places to record extra details.

Excessive spotting during the LP can be a concern, but I wouldn't call spotting starting at 9DPO excessive.

As long as i am getting 3 hours of sleep before I don't change the temping time to avoid open circles. The time doesn't seem to affect my temps as much the cycles that I do temp.

Yup exactly this. I usually make a note of the actual time in the notes section so if something is wildly off I can go back and see if the time is the culprit. But other than that I don't change the time at all and just let FF give me closed circles. I think you can probably see my last cycle that I temped during my TX break, and my shift was pretty obvious even though the time I tempted varied a lot.

No, the drinking box doesn't tell FF anything. It's just to remind you that temp may be off. I think the only check boxes that tell FF something is sleep deprived and fever.

I'll play! Here are a couple of questions...

1. When using the Wondfo OPK's, how early do you usually start? Last month, my first month off BCP, I didn't O until CD24 (confirmed with OPKs and temping). I peed on an OPK on a whim today and had a faint line at CD7. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my cycles shorten a little bit as I regulate coming off the pill and don't want to miss my surge...

2. This leads to my second, completely stupid question...Wondfo OPK's are completing blank at some point, right?? When absolutely, completely negative they would just show a control line, correct?
