Hi Ladies,
We have been transitioning the LO to the crib from the RNP for 2 weeks now. We swaddle and have white noise on. We have to put him in the crib when he is dead asleep. He only lasts for 3 hours then screams. We pick him up to calm him he instantly falls back asleep so we put him in the RNP as he will continue to wake up in the crib and not fall back asleep. We also need sleep too! If we were to put him in the RNP initially he will STTN and wake up at 6 ish to eat. Anyone else experience this? Am I doing something wrong? He is quickly outgrowing the RNP and now mushing his face on the side so I know its time for the transition. For naps this past week and a half he takes them in the crib which can vary from 30 to 2 hours so that's not an issue. Thank you ladies.

This. Except DD still gets up to eat once during the night, and I'm fine with that. And she still naps badly, but we didn't try sleep training for naps since she's in daycare.
We did it a couple weeks ago and it went pretty well.
First, we rolled up a receiving blanket and taped it to the mattress in U shape under the sheet (putting baby's butt at the bottom of the U) to help create the cozy feeling.
Then we propped the crib up to create an angle, though not as severe as the RNP.
The first night she woke up 2 times more than usual, but a week later she's back to normal and the blanket under the sheet is gone. She's still elevated due to reflux, though.
I think part of the trick is to never use the RNP again, or you'll just prolong the process.

This. We have been using the sleep sense program since he was 11 weeks old. It is awesome.
