I love that the slowness of the board has forced out all of us lurkers! Too funny [or is it desperation?] :]
If I didn't know better, I'd almost think that this is just a grand scheme of the oct11 regulars to get us out in the open!

In related news, when I was actually in labor the nurse asked if I wanted a mirror to help me experience the birth.  I laughed at her and asked for more drugs. 

One of the nurses asked me if I wanted a mirror, too. No flucking thanks! I don't want to be more horrified than I already am!

Seeing it would make me realize it's not as beautiful as they say it is lol... No mirrors for me

Hi! Violet stopped napping  so I don't get on as much as I used to.  But I do still lurk. I agree that the lurkers should start posting more!
And Super, what would possess one to Google "afterbirth"? I've Googled many things in my time but I'm not even tempted by that one. 

Similarly, I have always been curious as to what a mucus plug [insert vomit face] looks like since I had a csection and never saw mine, but I will never Google it. Ever!!!!!1!!!1!!11

I guess this would be my UO but I don't really think mucus plugs or afterbirths are all that gross. *shrug* However, the state of my vag after a 3rd degree tear...now that was horrifying.

No kidding! I'm shocked that he does after seeing what he's seen!

I wondered this a lot actually. He described the sounds he heard when DD was coming out and he was horrified. He couldn't think about it for weeks because it made him sick. He still talks about it 3 years later. LOL!

I did see my own mucus plug with DD and my dr insisted on showing me my placenta after her too. Being a nursing major, that stuff fascinates me though.

Hmm, that is a good question. I don't think that was ever mentioned as a feature. All of the symbols should work though, so you can manually add an emoticon if you know the code. You just have to put it between these [ ]. Like a thumbs up is [.Y.] no dots.

I also had an episiotomy. It still hurts. I think my *** of a doctor put in an extra stitch or two, because there are positions we can't do anymore without me tearing (I know, horrifying), and some of them are the really good ones.

I YELLED no when my midwife asked if I wanted a mirror. I reached down and touched S's head when it was coming out (at the MW's suggestion), then quickly pulled my hand away and said, "That was so gross."

Clearly I am very sentimental about the miracle of life.
