**Previous pregnancy/loss briefly mentioned**
A little back story... We started TTC in March 2011 and had my first BFP (natural cycle) in August 2012, which resulted in a loss. I had my second BFP after 2 natural cycles, which also resulted in a loss. Now, following my hysteroscopy and uterine polypectomy, I'm finally off the bench after 5 months once this next cycle starts.
My RE is recommending that I take femara (letrozole) to help increase the quality of my follicles. Also, I tend to ovulate later (CD 19-28) and this should hopefully help with that. I'm undecided if I want to just start taking it my first cycle back or wait until my 2nd (if I don't get a BFP in the first). DH says he kind of wants to wait on treatment, but says it's really up to me. I think he's just reluctant to try interventions b/c he's freaked out a little.
I don't know if I should start taking it right away to increase my chances or wait a cycle to give myself a chance at a natural cycle.
Also, if anyone has any advice regarding femara, it would be very welcome. ![]()
Sorry that this got kinda long. P.S. I'm really, really excited to finally be off the bench! woo hoo!

Re: WWYD: Femara cycle timing?
Thanks. I know in the big scheme of things, it really doesn't matter. I'm just getting anxious to get the show on the road.

Hello,
I haven't introduced myself on this board yet so I hope it's ok if I reply.
I can't speak to timing but I have used Femara multiple cycles and I can't say enough good things aboutit. I have told my RE I wish I could take it every cycle, because ttc or not, I feel hormonally normal on it. (Hx of PCOS and anovulation). It works like clomid but in my experience, there are no s/e and may work better than clomid (for those who do not respond to clomid, like myself). I hope you have a good experience with it if/when you try it!

Hi, I'm ok with you replying
That's good to know that you've had a good experience with femara. My RE said the side effects are better with it and I'm glad that's what happened with you, too.

I really don't have any advice as to waiting or not as that's totally a personal decision. I did want weigh in though as far as the Femara. I've taken it two cycles and didn't have really any side effects (except some bloating but I think that was really more due to the Bravelle that was added after my slow response).
Whatever you decide, best of luck!

BFP #3: 5/17/13 EDD: 1/24/14 Loss at 5 weeks: 5/29/13
Lots of testing, all clear with the exception of compound heterozygous for the MTHFR mutation.
Cycle 1: Femara, trigger shot, Bravelle added due to slow response = BFN
Cycle 2: Cancelled due to two cysts =(
Cycle 3: Femara, Bravelle, trigger shot and IUI = BFP then loss #3
Cycle 4: Femara, Follistim, trigger shot and IUI = BFP! EDD: 6/7/14
