Need work advice

As I have posted before, I work PT but I have a new boss and it is not going all that great.  He is disorganized, loses things I give him, and forgets things that we discuss.  So now inevitably on the days I am not in the office he ends up looking for some piece of information from me, that I usually have already given him.  I don't mind this occasionally, but now I am always tied to my cell phone or computer and if I actually need to get other things done on my days in the office, I end up being very inefficient at accomplishing anything.

So I need some advice on how to get this under control, as it is really not working for me and I want this job to work out.

Re: Need work advice

  • I would send update e-mails to him on everything discussed. :( That's annoying.

  • Could you get up a google doc with a task tracker? Log every item he asks of you, note when you've completed it, and where he can find it (in his email, on the shared drive, a hard copy in his inbox). At the end of each day you work, print out the most recent version and tape it up in your cube (if he wouldn't find it obnoxious)

He might hate this but it could work.  It would certainly save me some aggravation on my days off, if he actually looks at it rather than calling my cell phone.
