All walmarts should be burned to the ground to make room for more Targets!
This. I have an unhealthy obsession with Target. I get freaky happy when I get my Target coupons in the mail.
Hold up! There are Target coupons!??
For lucky people. They randomly send them out and nobody has been able to pinpoint how you are chosen. I registered there for my wedding and Bryson, plus have a credit card and still don't get them. My neighbor has shopped at Target ONCE and gets them.
One thing that does help is Cartwheel. Download the app on your phone. They have different offers on there.
i was just introduced to Cartwheel and I think it will change my life. Olivia and I plan our whole day around trips to Target. Also, Taco Bell is so good but Wendy's is my main fast food addiction.

African Americans now constitute nearly 1 million of the total 2.3 million incarcerated population
African Americans are incarcerated at nearly six times the rate of whites
Together, African American and Hispanics comprised 58% of all prisoners in 2008, even though African Americans and Hispanics make up approximately one quarter of the US population
According to Unlocking America, if African American and Hispanics were incarcerated at the same rates of whites, today's prison and jail populations would decline by approximately 50%
I'm curious what conclusion you're using those facts to support. That blacks are more criminal? Because those same facts are generally what is used to support the conclusion that the justice/enforcement agencie do in fact treat the races differently.
Um yeah. You dont go to jail just because your black, or white, or indian or jewish..you go to jail for committing crimes.
I'm sure this will ruffle some feathers.nbsp;I have several black friends and I think they are the most racists people on the planet. While we are friends and have fun when were together, we disagree about just about anything race related. They still focus on the civil war era and segregation and think blacks are unfairly profiled as criminals because of their race. Those may be the statistics, but stats are not the whole story. There is a vicious cycle that exists when one grows up in a dangerous and low income area. Schools in these areas have very little funding and when you're constantly exposed to making money through alternate, often illegal, means...it's pretty easy to succumb to it... especially as a kid.
I get that but I also think it's a excuse. Just because you grow up in poor surrounding doesn't give anyone the green light to become a criminal.

My thoughts? Shittbags come in all colors. If the victim says the suspects is black, well then the suspect is black. If the camera shows a Native American, the suspect is Native American. If the people that were pulled over on a traffic stop were white and had pounds of cocaine in the trunk, the suspects are white.
Follow the fricken rules and there won't be any problems.
Oh I agree 100% I was speaking of my personal experience with my friends. That is all.
FWIW, I've committed a lot of crimes and not gone to jail yet.

Couldn't these facts be used to support the argument that some people are unfairly profiled because of their race?
I dont believe so you dont get incarcerated just because your black. You get incarcerated for commiting a crime.
True story: I grew up in a small suburban town in CT. There were two black kids in my grade and a mixed race, white and black, along with a few Asians. The rest were all white. This was very representative of the town except the two black kids were brothers and they were the only fully black family that I knew of in town. It was a very white community. My friend, the half black boy, was driving home at like 11 pm and decided to stop at 711. A cop was there and he pulled his gun on my friend, made him get down and searched his car. He was questioned as to what he was doing in the neighborhood and the cop did not believe he lived there. He was ultimately let go because they could not find anything, but I know if it were me, a white girl, who stopped at 711 I would not have been searched. If black people are searched more and suspected more, then it is understandable that they would be caught more.
Sorry if that is hard to understand, I am on mobile.

Ick, Dunkin Donuts should not be able to say they serve coffee. I have a FB friend who is a therapist in a group home. Sometimes she posts status updates of stories about funny things her clients did or said. She'll get lots of likes and comments on these posts. Although she never gives identifying details, I find her sharing to be walking the line of a breach in confidentiality. The FB world or anyplace, really should not be the place to share this stuff.
Yes! I have a fb friend who is a special Ed teacher and she straight up posts pictures of her students and statuses like this on fb. What in the world, definitely not legal.
Pictures?! You've got to be kidding! How can she think that is appropriate or, more importantly, legal?
And side note: Besides my FIL, you're the first person I've heard use the phrase "what the world." :-)
That's ridiculous. I used to share funny things they said as status updates once in a while and then one of my friends said that although it was totally innocent and didn't state names I wouldn't want this to come back and get me somehow. It made sense and I never did it again. Well, as long as it was like a one liner that can't be traced back to me even being a teacher. Anyway, I just wanted to say the face she posts pics is insanely ridiculous.
Hate Dunkin. I like their iced tea and that is it. I find that their coffee is never consistent and 1 out of every 3 times tasted old and gross. Starbucks it always consistent. It is also 78 dollars.

Channing Tatum is not the ugliest thing on the planet, but he certainly doesn't get my juices flowing.
I'm totally ok that Starbucks robs me blind. It's delicious.
Taco Bell is sooooo yummy.
I have no real opinion on God's "happy plant" - do what you want with it, just keep the "special" brownies away from the kiddos.
My UO: Earrings on babies. I don't hard core judge it, because to each his own, but I do find it extremely ridiculous. It's just another thing you have to keep up with on an already high-maintenance creature. There's the cleaning, and the potential for the baby to pull them out, and the potential for the holes to become infected, etc. Just...no.
Back to Cajun's original post on the subject, I too have some black friends who are racist....except they would never, ever coin it as being racist. I have had one of them straight up say that "black people can't be racist, only white people can." WTF. Sorry, if you are making comments about how white people are all a-holes (except, I'm "cool, because (I'm) part Mexican") and saying how all white people have it out for black people, those are racist comments. It works both ways. I have NEVER seen so much racism til I moved to Georgia. Inside the perimeter (of Atlanta), a lot of the black people are racist against whites, and if you go outside the perimeter, a lot of the white people are racist against blacks. It is terribly sad.
So perfectly put Mckink. I also think it's worse in the south..although I dont frequent past the mason dixon line enough to really test that theory.

Oh yeah...that's my UO. I'm getting my daughter's ear pierced in the very near future. Flame away.
LOL...I still like you, no worries
Besides, you've waited until she's at least a year.

This is true of most areas in Alabama as well. My sister just got married in June to a black man and they have had a hard time with their relationship sometimes. They get stares all the time and it seems like black women and white men are the worst about seeing them together.
Kellen's godparents are also a biracial couple but they live in NYC and their experience is so different there than my sisters has been here in AL. Its so unfortunate.
I work for a coal company and our mines are located out in the middle of nowhere, AL and some of our employees out there are EXTREMELY racist of black people. Like openly, unashamedly racist. It is so maddening.
Karm, I just don't get you with that comment. Channing Tatum hmmm the things I'd do to him...
My UO: I agree that a family should have money in savings for an emergency fund aka car problems, house repairs, etc, however to the tune of $10k that's a bit extreme. I have maybe 2k on hand. I'd rather use the money towards something worthwhile or useful than to have it just sitting there, even if it's just a vacation. I'd rather live my life and make great memories with a vacation then to hoard the money.
I love this way of thinking. I would much rather have memories of a great family vacation, than money in the bank.

Or CA! All you need is a card ;] and its waaay cheaper and you have a million and one options. Cookie, brownie, lollipop, hemp drink....

You would think I'm completely cray because I only feel comfortable when there's at least 6 months of expenses saved...but we also go on vacations so I see your point about that.
My other UO is that I think after a certain age, around 22, it is unacceptable to wear Abercrombie and Aeropostale.
OMG yes..and Ed Hardy..who the hell decided that look was cute!?
I'm not going to do a mega quote tree but.... WHEELER
I don't think your mom's story has anything to do with race but more so todo with bbeing a woman. My sister has gotten away with the most INSANE things because she is a pretty girl. A cop tried really hard to get her out of a DUI when she blacked out one morning and drove in on the wrong side of a freeway on ramp and crashed into another car. All because she is a young pretty girl and they feel sorry for her. And we are half Hispanic.
Big hugs girl.

On the racism topic, I think the media stirs the racism pot. I live about 20min from Sanford where the whole Trayvon/Zimmerman thing went down. The media crucified GZ and deliberately skewed the story to make GZ seem like a crazy rabid racist. Yes he shot Trayvon. That's a fact. Yes he had a gun, and a CWP. Yes he should be held accountable for his actions. BUT, the media is TRYING to make it about a white guy tracking down a black kid and shooting him in cold blood.
Lets remember this, only two people know the whole story, and one is dead. Everyone has the right to a fair trial. (The black housekeeper at work told me she doesn't even know why they're bothering w a trial. Ummmm it's called due process) GZ was also injured in the process. GZ is half white and half Hispanic. Let the jury decide!
I am so over it. Racial tension around here is crazy right now and the Black Panthers have already planned a riot if GZ is acquitted to "let whites know how it feels"

Honest Q (not trying to be snarky): if you only have 2k on hand, WTF do you do if you or YH loses their job?
I am also assuming this 2k is not part of retirement savings.
I've been in this situation. Unemployment insurance and make due until you find another job. It's not always ideal by any means, but it happens.
I dont understand how rioting can be justified when someone is acquitted of a violent crime? In my opinion, the people that riot after something like the gz trial or la police dept. for the rodney king beating are equally as bad if not worse than the one person acquitted. Am i making sense? Hoards of people attacking innocent people is just as shameful as one person committing a violent crime. Actually, its worse.

The whole DSLR craze..just because you own one doesn't make you a photographer. It makes you a DSLR owner. It just makes me stabby because I had to endure two years of horrid, boring, mind numbing school while working at a studio photographing pimply teenagers for senior portraits. I also had to work proms..PROMS people, there's a special place in heaven for adults that have to endure proms, just saying. Lots of booty shaking sweat filled horrors going on in proms.
I only say this because I have a friend that wants me to send her clients in Charleston. She doesn't even have a DSLR, her photography sucks and i'd be embarrassed to send anyone to her. I want to tell her to go to school for it first or at least take a class or two or ten and buy a decent camera. She thinks she knows all because she was the receptionists in the studio I worked, for one summer.
Tim Hortons is the only acceptable coffee place.
I love McDonald's. To an unhealthy extent.
Racial profiling is extremely different here, so I can't comment on that major one.
I'm unsentimental about things such as my child's first haircut, firsts in general, and his first birthday. Not that I don't care, like hey yay, my kid is one! But I just don't get an emotional draw from it.
I wish we had Hortons in america..I went once and LOVED it!!!!

I love that you just called it Hortons...most times no one even says the Horton part..its Tims or Timmies...and "timmies" refers to all things...the place, the coffee, the food.."We're going to Tims. I'll have a Timmies. What's for lunch? Tims."
The real question is do you know what a double double is?
I do not!!! LOL I think I had a cruller and coffee..which was to die for!!!

Travels to third world countries to minister. Is even a well known Christian rapper. They both got great grades. I'm very proud of them. They have never committed a crime or pulled over while black that they've admitted. Just a brain spew from me.
OMG poor kid that is awful.
I love you my motorboat queen!
But you like it that way, dont you dirty girl? ;0)
Move to WA its legal here. I don't partake but MH does and that's his argument now, its legal lol
Sweet Tea is Heaven's nectar.
Just...no.
ETA: spelling
So perfectly put Mckink. I also think it's worse in the south..although I dont frequent past the mason dixon line enough to really test that theory.
LOL...I still like you, no worries
Besides, you've waited until she's at least a year.
Dumb, dumb, dumb!!
I love this way of thinking. I would much rather have memories of a great family vacation, than money in the bank.
Or CA! All you need is a card ;] and its waaay cheaper and you have a million and one options. Cookie, brownie, lollipop, hemp drink....

Now the hip muscle with that crease heading to pleasure island is one of my biggest turn ons.
Cajun - thank you for brightening up my morning
I don't think your mom's story has anything to do with race but more so todo with bbeing a woman. My sister has gotten away with the most INSANE things because she is a pretty girl. A cop tried really hard to get her out of a DUI when she blacked out one morning and drove in on the wrong side of a freeway on ramp and crashed into another car. All because she is a young pretty girl and they feel sorry for her. And we are half Hispanic.
Big hugs girl.

WORD TO ALL OF THIS.
What just happened in my diaper?!
What just happened in my diaper?!
Exactly.
What just happened in my diaper?!
You are officially my favorite person of the day!
Another One..
(that turned into a rant more than a UO..sorry)
I wish we had Hortons in america..I went once and LOVED it!!!!
I do not!!! LOL I think I had a cruller and coffee..which was to die for!!!
They have one in the NYC! I love that place.
