Babies: 3 - 6 Months

4 months PP and still no AF

My DS is 4 months old and I still have not had a period.  I formula feed so breastfeeding is not the issue.  I had 1 tiny incident of spotting a few days ago but it stopped almost as soon as it started.  Thoughts?

  • Are you on any BC or using any method of secondary BC? Many women do not get their periods back for a while, but if your not on any form of BC then you could be pregnant.

  • This was not a fishing post.  I'm definitely not pregnant and had trouble getting pregnant to begin with.  I'm just wondering what exactly is normal for when to expect getting AF back.

Haha!  I know, I just have hormonal imbalances that made getting pregnant very difficult to begin with and am just worried it's gotten worse.

You know how AF works! She's there when you don't want her and missing when you'd like her to check in. I wouldn't worry for now, but definitely be using BC. Don't bank on the "it was hard the first time." Those are famous last words if I ever heard them. ;-)

Ha! My sister conceived #2 at 3mos PP with no sign of AF. :) After trying for #1 for over a  year. Op, I wouldn't worry yet. Try to relax and not stress Bc that could put it off even longer.

  • I'm in the same boat.  LO is 18 weeks old now & no AF.  No BC because like you, we had trouble getting pregnant.  (4th IVF was finally a victory!)  I just keep expecting her to arrive any day now.  BC Pills sure helped with eliminating the "surprise" visits!  We may have make "She's Here" posts!

I asked a question. Nowhere did I say you were "fishing" are you on BC or using secondary BC. It doesn't matter how hard you worked to get pregnant the first time, you can still have a surprise baby. I got my period back by 6 weeks PP, but it's not unusual to go a few months. However, if your not using BC then I'd POAS to make sure you don't have an "oops" baby.

LOL! Mine came back while i was on vacation. and i had trouble getting pg too, but i am not going to bank on that for bc. i can't afford a 4th baby.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Sorry, I must have misinterpreted!  We are using BC and I've taken a test just to be sure.  Definitely not pregnant!
