Waiting for an answer...

Hi Ladies!

I am new to this board. I am a mother of 2 so you would think I would be able to answer this question for myself but yet here we are. :P

SO, I am currently going on day #33 of my cycle. Still, no period. My cycle has never gone that long. My breasts have been so tender for the last week or so, light crampiness, fatigue, I have been so bloated! (I don't usually get this bloated from my period). BUT, I took 2 Dollar Store pregnancy tests (1 last night, and 1 this morning), BOTH negative.

  • Ok, I'll bite.

If you don't temp and chart, you really have no way to know exactly when you ovulated. Which means your period might not be "late" but that you just ovulated later than you think. In all but the rarest of rare cases, a negative test means you aren't pregnant. Sorry.  :(

All of this applies even if your cycles are extremely regular, because we all have odd cycles here and there.

All of that being said, if you get to 60 days with no period or a positive test, talk to your doctor about jumpstarting your cycle with some meds.

  • I used the dollar store test with my DD who is my second baby.  I was one week late and it barely showed a positive.  Actually the line was so faint that my DH didn't see it at first and thought it was negative lol. Maybe try a different kind of test if you want to find out right away.

Each of my pregnancies has been positive first with dollar store tests (as have those of a number of bumpies).  Dollar store tests are (at least at the last time I used one/researched them) as accurate as most other tests.
