My husband and I are going to start trying in August. I was wondering if anyone has some tips for what we/I can do to improve our chances of conception in the first 3 months. I am going off birth control after this next cycle. Any tips are appreciated!
Re: Tips for conceiving quickly
If only ...
You have a 20% chance of conceiving each month. Keep that in mind and try to not get discouraged if you do not conceive "quickly".
That being said, read the newbie blog, sign up for Fertility Friend and learn about your body. This will help you to understand the whole thing better.
Good luck
Have sex. Lots of sex.
Learn about your body, and your individual cycle.
Have sex.
Stay hydrated.
Live your life normally.
Have lots of sex.
This.
If I knew any other tips forconceiving quickly, I wouldn't still be here after almost 2 years of TTC.

PAIF/SAIF Welcome!
I think everyone already gave really good advice about what you can do to know as much about your body as possible so that you can have great timing. That said, even with great timing, you have about a 20% chance each cycle. And unfortunately, this is just one of those things in life that you have very very little control over.
I definitely think it is important to know as much as you can, and do your best to have good timing, etc., but I just want to caution you about putting too much responsibility on yourself for increasing chances, or you may also put too much blame on yourself if it doesn't go as easily as planned. I only say this because I've been there, and it was a tough pill to swallow. Sincerely, best of luck to you, and hope that your efforts to be as prepared as possible pay off.
** After 2 1/2 years of Unexplained IF, 2 failed medicated cycles, and 4 failed IUI's - our baby girl came to us through the miracle of Mini IVF! **
All of this. Good luck OP!
This. I really had no idea my chances when I first starting TTC. We really thought it would happen like right away. We have been trying since the end of January. At any rate, the first two cycles when I got the BFN, I was pretty upset. I have just tried to be patient and not get so worked up. I know it's easier sad than done! Good luck!
Well, I was only 21 when we started ttc our first, and it took 5 months and I didn't come off birth control, my periods were regular, etc.
With this one, I'm 23 and we've been ttc for about 6 months now (not coming off birth control once again, and my periods are actually mostly regular).
I would not expect to get pregnant in 3 months or less. That is setting yourself up for extreme disappointment. Also, a lot of the ladies on here have been trying for much much MUCH longer than 3 months (some have been trying for 2 years), so this post might be a little offensive to them, so before you post next time, how about you lurk around a bit?
I don't think you offended anyone. Some women do get pregnant their first month TTC (Roughly 20%) others it can take a little longer. It can take a healthy couple with no fertility issues up to 1 year to get pregnant.
Stick around this board is full of great information on TTC. GL.
