So im getting a little worried...he doesnt really like to walk without holding my hand or pushing his toy. He has great balance and will stand up by himself just fine and HAS taken steps without assistance. But still prefers to crawl if not holding hands.
He is in daycare during the day and even younger LO's are walking. He does however have a great vocab.
I know SOME dont walk until 18 months. But its hard for me to process cause my daughter was RUNNING JUMPING at this age. She was walking perfect by 12-13months.
Anyone else with LO's without the courage to do it alone...
Re: Still not wanting to walk by himself much...***HE IS WALKING***
If he's speaking ok no other areas concern 18 months is when you worry. However any regression started walking stopped for period of time. Pt physical therapy all they do is strengthen muscles so get a baby stroller fill it with heavy items build strength or walk together long periods. Sometimes it's just caution only you know your child. Oldest dd had developmental delays required pt as well as other therapy one area is no big deal several so fine motor grasp self seeding waving, social playing with toys appropriately trying to get you involved other kids but still parallel play. He'll prolly be walking soon.
My lil guy still gets down and crawls sometimes and he walks great... so I wouldn't worry about the crawling thing. All kids are different, yours just wants to master other areas first. Try not to compare and milestones are not set in stone.
My 15 month old is still not walking either. He shows no interest in the walker push toy. I see progress all the time though so I am not concerned and all of the nurses, other mothers and doctors tell me not to worry.
