Babies: 6 - 9 Months

New to board- baby is doing silly things already

Hi all,

I have an 8 month old, Lauren. She's healthy and happy and normal all around, but the last month or so, she will put things on her head and leave them there. LOL! Like she has a Peppa Pig doll, and she will literally lay it on her forehead and stay like that for 5 minutes. If you hand her a toy, she will put it on her head. I'm not worried about it; I'm sure she's just being a baby, but I was wondering if anyone else's kid is doing this? I wonder if she thinks everything is a hat or hair bow.I already spoke to her doctor and he said he's not worried about it.  Like I said, I'm not concerned, but it freaks my husband out, so I promised him that I would write this post and see what other people have to say about it.

  • Sounds pretty normal to me.  She is just exploring.  :)

  • Thanks Meagan. I'm sure she is too. She's our first, so we get a little freaked out by some things that I'm sure are perfectly normal. :)
  • That's funny you mentioned that. My 6 month old literally just started doing that today. If you give her a toy or cloth she keeps trying to put them on her head. I thought it was a little funny too. I feel like she is doing something new each day. I think they are just trying to figure things out. :

  • If you head on over to the november 2012 board, post titled silly pics, I have a pic of my LO with his book on his head. I put it there, he thinks it's hilarious and tries to do it over and over. They're learning, that's all. I feel like he's been learning that things can be behind him now as well so he reaches around his back for toys he knows are there.
