Baby movements causing Braxton Hicks?

for mobile: baby movements causing braxton hicks?

Last night sitting on the couch LO became very active after a relatively quiet day. I also noticed I was having quite a few Braxton Hicks contractions, but I only noticed because I had my hands on my belly. They weren't painful or even uncomfortable. I would feel baby move a bunch then my stomach would harden. This happened about 7 times all within an hour before I eventually got up and they seemed to stop. Can her movements have caused them? I know it was a lot of contractions, but I just had a doctor appointment that evening and everything was fine so I wasn't really concerned, especially because I wouldn't have even noticed them if my hands weren't on my belly feeling baby move.

Oh, and I'm 28 weeks today if that means anything. I've felt the Braxton Hicks before and they do often seem to happen in the evenings when she's most active, but that could also partially just be because I'm more likely to notice them since since I'm already focused on my belly.

I think it's totally normal. Depending on where my DD is laying I will have a ton of BH and sometimes when she moves or rolls. My OB said no more BH than 6 per hour though. You should be fine ;)

  • Totally normal. I have had tons and tons of BH throughout all three if my pregnancies. It seems like everything triggers them. Baby movements, full bladder, me moving too fast... Lol. I never really even count them and usually don't keep track unless I notice them coming at regular intervals or being painful. I think as you get near the end, BH just seem to be partbifcthe whole thing.
