So annoyed with DH this morning

DS has a horrible ear infection and has not been sleeping well the past three nights.  DH, who normally stays out of town a lot during the week, was home last night due to the holiday.

I went to bed at 9 because I was exhausted.  At 12 I wake up to crunching noises.  DH has come to bed, is watching tv, playing on his iPad, and eating Kashi Crunch cereal of all things.  He may as well have been chewing on rocks.

DS wakes me up at 4 am because his ear hurt, I get him settled down and crawl back into bed by 4:30, only to have DH's alarm go off 15 minutes later, and then 10 minutes after that because he hit the snooze button.  He is working locally today but still had his alarm set for the time he gets up when he goes out of town.  Finally at 5:00 I dragged my butt out of bed because I could not fall back to sleep.

I think he is just used to staying by himself and was not thinking last night but OMG I am so annoyed.  And I am at work, where I will be barely functioning today.

  • I'd be really annoyed too.  I had a bad night last night because of DS too, and if DH had contributed to it - I would have been livid!

We can drink strong cups of coffee later today together. :)

  • I'd be so annoyed too! His behavior was pretty inconsiderate.

  • I am so with you - DH here travels as well and after he's been gone a few consecutive weeks I feel like I need to re-orient him to life at home if he will be here on a week night.  I seriously have contemplated creating a trifold that details how things work in our house and baseline expectations.

I may need to do that myself...

Wow!  I give you a lot of credit for not screaming at your DH for eating cereal in bed at 12:00am while you were trying to sleep.  I would have ripped DH's head off!!!

I hope your DS's ear infection gets cleared up soon.  4:00am wakeup calls are not fun.

I agree with PP's that you need to make a coffee run.  Maybe even throw a shot of espresso in there!

My dad took DS back to the Ped today, who immediately scheduled an emergency ENT visit which they are on their way to.  Crying  I am stuck at work.

Eh-nothing to be worried about as long as your dad is a good communicator and can relay what the dr said. Every ENT visit I have gone to the dr rec ear tubes. DD1 had them and they were wonderful!  A 10 min procedure and she didn't have an EI for a yr (before falling out).  And of course, you may not even hear that rec.

Today was rough for you, tomorrow will be better!

Oh he has tubes...now he has gotten water in one from swimming and the swelling is so bad that the drops and oral antibiotics are not even touching it.
