Genevieve?

What does Baby Names think of it? DH loves it and I like it OK, but I LOVE the nickname Evie. Would you use a first name you were eh about to get a nickname that you absolutely adore?? Is that worth it? DS's name is Sullivan, and I feel like Genevieve and Sully make a weird sebset, but Evie and Sully make a cute one.

    I absolutely love this name! Eve or Evie are both good nn options. However, if it were me, I would want to love both the name an nn. So if you are just so so about the name then you might want to keep looking.

    I love Genevieve.

    Other options are Eve, Eva, Evelyn, Everly, Evangeline

    I like Genevieve, but personally I wouldn't use a formal name I was just okay with in order to get a nn I love.  I LOVE PPs suggestion of Evangeline.

    I like Genevieve, but it is a mouthful of a name with all the vs and I don't like Evie or Gen as nns.

    I think its a very pretty name- Evie is a cute nn.   I don't think it "goes" with Sullivan at all- very different styles- but I don't think that really matters to be honest.

    Do it! I loved Dot and Dottie for Dorothy. I now call her Dorothy instead LOL 

    She was my first and I was scared down to the birth certificate day. I think its normal to be a tad hesitant

    I love the name Genevieve. Personally, I would not choose a fn that I thought was just ok, so that I could use a specific nn. As PP's have mentioned, there are a handful of names out there that would go with Evie. Are there any that you like more than Genevieve?

    I think it's a beautiful name. It doesn't absolutely "go" with Sullivan, but I don't think it has to.

    I wouldn't go with it unless you really love it because even if you plan to give her Evie as a nick name it might not work out.  Kids make up their own nicknames or get called different names in school, etc.  Her real first name will always be with her.

    I love the nn Evie as well.  I think Genevieve is pretty, but I like Evangeline more...both are very pretty though.

    I love Genevieve and the nn evie.  

    I dont' think it matches with your son's name, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

    Love Genevieve, it's my almost 7 year old's name. She goes by Genny though. I too wouldn't use it if you don't love it and just want it for the nn.
