Laundry

How many loads of laundry (on average) do you do a week? I think I do around 8. I am just curious how much everyone else does. I only have one child so I am sure having more makes a big difference.

We do about the same... Except I save it all for one day and then get angry that I have 200 clothes to fold :)

I do the same thing. Usually do all my laundry Friday and Saturday.

  • The washer and dryer are going pretty much every day at least one load on average so maybe 7? 8? Seems like so much when I really think about it.

I do about one load a day. I throw it in the washing machine in the morning, the drier when I remember and them fold it in the afternoon. Between my workout clothes and DFs work clothes and H, we have at least one load a day, sometimes more.

I hear you on the workout clothes! Some days I wear 3 outfits total with working out.

  • 4-5 loads.  In my prebaby days, I had a ton of little loads:  cold water, warm water, pinks and reds, delicates, etc. I don't have time for that so now it all gets tossed in together.

  • Eight?  Wow.  During the summer I do 5-6, during the school year, when I have school uniforms to wash I do 7-8.  That is for the five of us. ETA: We do have a huge washer, so that does help!

DH and I married 8 years. Mom of three, stepmom of one.

I probably do about 6 a week - a load for DS, DH's work stuff twice a week, whites, colored stuff and towels/sheets.

  • I'd say 5 or 6 plus 3 loads of diaper laundry a week.

  • About 5/6 loads but I only do it about once every 7 to 10 days. I'm a lazy one on that front. I really need to get a schedule not that cheerleading is about to start......

  • I save it all for one day and I usually do about 6 loads.
  • Our bedroom hamper: One or two loads (sometimes I end up washing 2x per week, or separating it into two loads if it's really piled up.)

Towels, rags, and sheets: One or two loads a week (depends on if it's sheet week/if I am washing our quilt.)

    Charlotte's laundry:  Twice a week

Diaper laundry:  Three times a week

So, nine loads on a heavy week, seven loads on an "easy" week.  I also don't mind laundry, so I find this to be NBD.

Yup.  This is me too.  I'd be doing non-stop laundry though!  So i do it all in one or two days.  Sounds crazy, but I do laundry about twice a month.  We all have a TON of clothes though so its not like we run out of stuff to wear.  And I am a firm believer of wearing clothes more than once before washing.  Unless its visibly dirty.  If you wash stuff too much it wears down the fabric and also the color.

I will say the boys stuff gets washed more like every other week cause they do get dirty.

Holy cow, 8 loads a week?!?  I do one for myself, 1 for DD, 1 for towels and DH usually does one for him.  I throw sheets into the mix every little while too so that adds a load.

This is how I felt.  I don't do nearly 8 loads a week.  Usually 3 per week (hot/normal, cold/delicate/baby clothes, and one for sheets and towels).

  • I swear I do a load of laundry of just DH's boxers!  He goes through like 3 pairs a day. I have no idea how it does it.  I gave up on sorting out the clothes, I don't have time for that. I just sort out the delicates and towels.  I probably do about 6 loads per week.

  • I do DH's and my laundry on the weekend unless he's traveling and needs something specific.  I ea Whites/brights/darks/work pants/towels. I also used to do 1 load of LO's clothes a week, but now that we're CD'ing during the day, I throw some of her stuff in after the rinse cycle every other day.

so I guess I do 8 or so.

now that the weather is warm I put most stuff out to line dry, then do a 5-10 minute cycle in the dryer to kill of any bugs and soften

This is us too, except somehow we manage to still need to do a million loads a week.  DH doesn't even put in his stuff to be washed often enough...I have to battle his ring around the collar.  DH wears at least 3 sets of clothes a day, sometimes 4, I'm guessing that's where Danielle's laundry comes from too (multiple different outfits per person per day.)  It piles up when you are working out or working in the yard...that stuff has to be washed every time usually.

  • I do somewhere between 2 and 5 loads a week probably. That's for 4 people... 2 of whom are small, one of whom is tall, and the other is me. I do very large loads, and I don't wash our sheets and towels every week. Tonight I did a load that included DH's and my bath towels, hand towels, bath mat, 3 thick beach towels, a dog towel and a few clothes, for instance.
