Mine is tomorrow. My doctor told me not to fast. She told me to eat how I would normally eat, drink the drink about 45 minutes prior to the appointment, then not eat/drink anything after, until my blood was drawn in the office.
It's interesting how many ways there are to complete this test!

I wasn't directed either way before my test. I had a piece of string cheese before I went in for my test and the lab never even asked if I had fasted. I went in, drank the special drink and waited for an hour until they drew my blood.
Really? I am suppose to fast, i.e. not eat breakfast. I'm trying to figure out how late I can eat dinner without it affecting the results. I only want to go through this test one time!
I have to go next week for mine. My doc told me to fast but the paperwork only says to fast for the 3 hour. I'm going to call the lab and ask what they want me to do. So confusing.. I just want to pass the darn thing!

My OB didn't require that I fast for my GD, just eat normally. I was kind of worried since so many women mention that they are fasting but I passed with flying colors.

I have mine at 10am. My Dr. didn't say anything about fasting. I had eggs and wheat toast for breakfast, and I'm only drinking water. I figure that should be fine.

My doctor told me the exact same thing, and my test is also tomorrow. Good luck!

At 28 weeks my OB looked at me and said- "oh, you haven't had the GD test, want to take it now?". Yeah- sprung on me kind of last minute. I had had almost NOTHING to eat that day, as I was in meetings all day. I had a McChicken sandwich from McDonald's (healthy I know ) and and orange Hi-C around noon. Then I had a half a Milky Way candy bar around 2:00. My appointment was at 3. I drank the drink at 3:15 and took the test and PASSED. so I guess you never know. Good luck!
Wow! I can't believe how different the directions were for everyone. I was told to fast for two hours before mine, but since the test was in the morning, I didn't have enough time to eat anything before I went to the doctor. So, I hadn't had anything to eat in ~12 hours. I failed with a 159 and am going back in on Friday for the 3 hour. :-(

The instructions for mine said to fast after midnight the night before and go first thing in the morning. I went for breakfast right after the one-hour test.
My doctor told me I didn't need to fast, but to avoid anything high in sugar/carbs that morning. Since I went in for the test at 7am I just skipped breakfast and essentially fasted anyhow. I still failed (same thing with the 3 hour).
I didn't have to fast, my Dr. told me to eat whatever I would normally eat. So, I had a fried egg, a piece of toast covered in strawberry jam and a glass of orange juice and milk. And.....I passed!
I was told to fast- nothing besides water after midnight. The lab tech said that people who fast generally pass. But I know plenty of women who fasted and didnt pass. So who know.
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)
I had my test this morning. They just said nothing sweet to eat before the test. I had a slice of bread and some water Woot. Waiting to see what the response will be.

All are welcome in my posts
I just had to stop eating 1 hour before I drank the drink, so that works out to 2 hours of fasting.
