DH seems to think we read "everywhere" that we are not supposed to trim our baby's finger nails. I think the opposite is true; I thought that we were to avoid doing his nails for the first month but that I should be trimming his nails at least once a week (depending how long/fast they grow).
who is right?

This. In the beginning, I filed his nails. But now I just trim them. Although, I try to do it when he's sleeping, so I don't cut him.

Same with my dd. I have to trim her nails all the time and have been since she was born. She loves to rub her eyes when she is tired and is now all about grabbing people's nose and mouths. If I didn't trim she would hurt herself of us.
