We have always said we'd love 2 or 3 total. However now I'm thinking the next pregnancy would have to go really really well for me to try for a third though.
Married October 2009. Me 29 H 28. After 1 year of infertility, our little miracle was conceived via our 3rd IUI on May 5, 2013. Holland Sophia was born Jan 24, 2014.
DH and I always wanted 3 kids. When I was PG with #3, I casually brought it up to him that I didn't feel like it was my last pregnancy and that I may want 1 more. I thought he would think I was completely crazy but instead he said "I feel the same way."
Since Reid was born, we were going back and forth about a 4th baby and then BOOM. Surprise! So here we are... pregnant with baby #4.
Originally we both wanted three but with everything it took to just get here we will wait and see. We still have two embryos frozen, my RE calls them our little popsicles! We will definitely try again with those but beyond that, I'm not sure.
2. We are done after this one. I hate being pregnant, and it's also hard to plan trips/vacations to fun places when you constantly have a newborn. DS is getting to the age where it's fun to take him to cool places like the zoo and stuff.

3 has been the plan. Right after DD was born, I said I thought one was a good number, but I was (mostly) joking. Now, if this one is a boy, we'll see. DH is a pastor and so we're moved to different churches periodically and may not always have enough bedrooms for 3 kids to have their own. If this LO is a girl, she and DD can share rooms, but I don't think, as the kids get older, having a boy and girl share rooms will go very well.
This will be our last. It was a pretty strong debate between 2 and 3. DH would have preferred to stop at 2, but I just wasn't done yet. But I know this is it for me and I'm happy with it.
I think we both settled on 4-5 when I was pregnant with #1. This pregnancy, number 2, is high risk so we will see how my body handles it to determine how many more we have. I'm hoping we can do at least one or two more.
1 or 2. When I was younger I saw myself having 2, but now that I'm a little older than I'd planned for starting, and it's pretty well set that we'll never have huge incomes due to our career choices, one may be a better fit for us. I had multiple siblings, half-siblings, step-siblings, and DH was an only. I've talked to him about his experience a lot, and done a lot of reading, so I'm not concerned about the lonely, spoiled only child bit.
I want 3, possibly 4. DH wants 2, possibly 3. We decided to wait to discuss a third until after two is born. I will be slightly heartbroken if we stop at two.

I would have love 3 kids but due to age and finances, realistically probably 2 and happy with that. This will be my first at 37. Hoping for #2 before 40.
Mrs. Jenni I think you have the perfect #. I would love 4 as well. I don't know if it will play out for me (this baby is due a week before my 35th birthday), and it took us quiet awhile to get a BFP this time around, but here's hoping!
2. DH and I are both getting fixed after this one, since clearly non-permanent forms of BC don't work for us (see: two unplanned pregnancies). We weren't planning on having any children, but after we had one I knew I wanted DS to have a sibling. It wasn't supposed to be until summer 2015 at the soonest, but since it's happening already, we're done after this.

I agree. I didn't min my first pregnancy at all; this time around....Oi vey. I'm not feeling nearly good enough to function 100 percent daily. I'm at a 65 percent. I just hope I feel better soon. But, you never know. I don't remember any specifics about my pgncy with DS or about the c section, so I was all about having another one. I'm going with 2 right at this moment. :S
I always said 2 or 3. This is my first. I have hated being pregnant so so much already, HG and a killer sore back already, I don't know if I could do it again.
Also this one was unplanned, I had originally wanted to wait a couple of years, then have 2 really close together. Now if we do decide to go it again, there will be a gap, maybe 4 or 5 years, which kinda sucks, but we just can't afford it.
Before we knew about our IF issues- I would have said at least two, maybe three. But now we'll just be thankful for this one. If we add to our family it will be through adoption.

I will be 36 when this one comes. If it takes us 16-17 months to get pregnant again, that means I will be 38 when the second one comes.
Same.
If this baby is another boy, I might have it in me for a third pregnancy.
If this baby is a girl, we'll probably settle at 2, though.
