I had an absolutely whirlwind of a day. After no labor signs, contractions or dilation to date. I woke up at four am, just like almost every other morning this pregnancy. Around 5:30, I felt something like a rubber band popping and when I stood up, there was watery discharge. There wasn't any more discharge after that, so I figured i just peed myself.
I had a doctor's appt at 8, and my doctor's office is the hospital. I was in denial that I was in labor, despite having consistent contractions four minutes apart, so I made lunches for H and me, sent H off to work and drove myself to the hospital.
It was my first time meeting this particular dr at the practice, so he was making small talk, while I was contracting. He checked me, said my water did break and that I was 4 cm dilated, so he sent me to be admitted.
It took about 2.5 hours for my epidural to be administered and I dilated to 9 cm in that time. The epidural was awesome and after an hour of resting, it was time to push. 45 minutes later, at 2:32 our boy was born, 6lb even and 19.5 inches long.
I was fully expecting to go past my due date, so it is so surreal to have a baby. I was terrified of LD and so thankful for such an easy and quick process. I feel like I really lucked out.
I don't know how to add mobile pics or I would. Just believe me. He's cute!

I will say what other people have said to other FTMs. Go with your gut. After my epidural, I said that I had to pee, but my nurse said that I really didn't. So I was literally just wetting the bed for an hour and then they cathed me And took out a ton of fluid. And I thought I was ready to push, but another nurse told me I probably didn't, because things take time for a FTM to progress. 10 minutes later, I had an internal from the doc, and it was obvious that it was time to push. These were pretty minor issues, but trust your gut. You know your body better than anybody else.
