Yeast Infection

I was hoping I just had some vaginal irritation... But at this point, I definitely think it's a yeast infection. Boo!

My dr told me it was ok to use an over the counter treatment. Any recommendations ladies? I'm tempted to go buy Monistat 1 to just knock it out but I've heard the one day treatments are less effective during pregnancy. Is this true? The idea of having to use a 7 day treatment is NOT appealing... I want to feel better!!

I had one a few weeks ago and my dr. said get the monistat 5 because it kills more kinds of yeast.

  • Had one earlier in pregnancy. I bought the 7 day but did 3 days and it cleared. My doctor said you need more than the one day to knock it out.

  • I did the 7 because my dr said since everything is so sensitive down there with the extra blood flow that the creams for 1 to 3 days will typically burn and you will end up trying to get it out before it has the chance to do anything

  • I just the 3 day treatment. The pharmacist suggested to NOT use the one day... Which was fine with me as the last time I used the one day it burned something fearce!
  • I was diagnosed with one at my first appointment and the doctor told me to use Monistat 7. I'd never had one before, but MAN did it burn. Since it's the least concentrated one of the bunch, I think I would have been in complete misery using 1 or 5.
