NBR : This momma is sad

I am very upset right now. My dogs were fooling around and broke a dish and one of them got a deep cut in her paw D: ::sad face:: I can't afford to take her to the vet right now. I've stopped the bleeding and have done what I can. She's asleep right now so I know she is comfortable.

Sorry for the vent I just needed to let it out.

  • :(  Prayers for your doggy.  I am sure she is ok!  Years ago I had a dog that cut her paw pretty bad and I took care of it myself (with Mom's help over the phone).  She was just fine.  Just keep an eye on it.

  • If its too bad you can super glue the wound close. Try not to get it down in there just on the edge. You can hold it closed and put the glue on top. There is also liquid bandage you can try.

I am no doctor but that sounds like a REALLY bad idea!

My pup got his face stuck in a chain-link fence and I took him to the vet because he needed stiches, but this was not our first wound with him. My one pup is very accident prone so the vet said if it doesn?t require stiches try to keep it dry and wash it with mild soap and warm water. Do peroxide once a day and if they will let you Neosporin (it is safe if ingested in case they lick it off)

PS- I am sure Chiamy would say to do something else and get toatlly huffy with us for dissagreeing!

  • Thanks ladies :D I made a bootie out of paper towel just to catch any other bleeding if it started again. I looked it up online it says to leave it uncovered and to just watch it for infection, aside from cleaning it twice a day with anti bacterial soap and warm water. My pup is my baby :D

  • I went through this recently when a dog took a chunk out of my sweet corgi. We kept it open but kept a cone on him because that's what the vet told us to do. If it scabs over normal than it should be fine unless it won't stop bleeding. I hope your pup is okay!

    Ahahahaha!!!!
Op, put neosporin on it to prevent infection. You can cover it for a day while it forms a scab, and then remove the covering.
