Major vent (baby mentioned briefly)

Hi everyone-

First, I'm so excited to see so many June blooms!!!! You go girls!!!!!!

My major vent for the day.... Went in for my day 14 Lupron monitoring.... Mentioned that I still have nipple discharge, and should I be concerned? I also (stupidly/smartly) told them that it can be brown. Well, did that just open a flood gate!!!! So now, they are sending me for a mammogram and I have to wait a week to see a breast specialist. I'm not allowed to do an FET until the breast doc gives me the okay. So I'm on another week of Lupron/holding pattern.

Why the %*#?>? didn't they do this months ago when I first arrived at the center??? They have my full medical history!!!! I'm glad to have things checked out, but I'm not so happy about the timing.

Oh, I also had a nice visit from my cousins who just arrived from Germany. While I'm holding the baby, I notice a rash...."oh that? Yeah, she might have German Measles". WTF. I'm inoculated, but my RE wants me to go to my PCP for some bloodwork to make sure I'm 100% okay.

Any more curveballs anyone would like to throw at me??

BFP #1 - chemical pregnancy, natural miscarriage at 7 weeks on 2/11/12 BFP #2 - u/s at 8 weeks showed a tiny fetal pole measuring at 6 weeks, heart rate slow at 94bpm. Natural miscarriage a few days later on 4/15/12 August 2012- Diagnosed with pancreatic divisum, September - ERCP w/stent placement. Fingers crossed this was the issue! Doc gave the go-ahead to start trying again. BFP #3 - Chemical pregnancy ending a few days after Thanksgiving 2012. Clearly my pancreas was not the issue. Doc told us to try one more time. BFP #4 - Chemical pregnancy ending in January 2013. Now I'm pissed. February- meeting with RE. Test results show I have a low egg reserve and DH has severely messed up sperm. Docs are quite confused as to how we're getting pregnant to begin with. Let the IVF games begin!! April - stim time!! 7R, 6F via ICSI, 5 made it to day 5, 3 look "good enough" to be sent for PGS testing. We are now the proud owners? Parents? Of 2 healthy frozen embryos. June - ugh. Lupron. So much Lupron. And Aygestin, and Estrogen, and Progesterone suppositories. Things are going in to my body every way possible! July 25- scheduled for our first FET. Aaand huge fail. All of the estrogen gave my pancreas a good old fashioned hissy fit. Long story short, moving on to gestational carrier.

Re: Major vent (baby mentioned briefly)

  • Oh my. I'm so sorry, girl. That's definitely a lot of things to have thrown at you. I'm hoping everything gets checked out quickly so that you can move forwards sooner rather than later. I'm sure you'll be ok, but I totally understand being worried!

  • So the baby might have German Measles?  Why haven't they taken her to a doctor to be diagnosed?  And why if you think your baby might have an infectious disease, would you take her to visit people?  That's crazy.

Good luck with your breast specialist.  I hope you are cleared soon.

    PAIF/SAIF Welcome!

  • Holy crap! I'm so sorry! I had to have a mammogram too and a biopsy because of a lump in April of this year! Totally threw me for a loop even when I found out I was benign I was pusses b/c the docs had scared me! I mean really shouldn't that be one of the first testa they give us?
Five IUI 's and two 3 day IVF transfers and two chemical pregnancies. Unknown to me at the time was that I was hypothyroid and had endometriosis. All that heartache and money and I would have never gotten pregnant. Time for new RE. New RE found the thyroid and endo. I had another 5 day transfer in April when all 7 embryos arrested on day four. Transferred three morali and didn't conceive. Thyroid function is excellent now. DH SCSA came back perfect. Now for IVF number four in June 2013. I had two perfectly expanded blasts put back and five frosties! I have never gotten this far! Now to wait for blood test on 6/26. My heart is In my throat! Please let this work, BFP with HPT 7 days and 8 days after transfer.
  • Ohhhhh ladies.... If anyone was in my head, he/she would be appalled at the thoughts running through my mind!!! Seriously, if my baby *maybe* had German measles, I would #1. Bring her to a doctor who could give me a CLEAR diagnosis and not a shoulder shrug and "eh, she'll get over it if it is" and #2. I would NOT travel, especially outside the country!!!!

    I should stop ranting,

However, on the bright side, I got my mammogram and u/s already, and I'm all clear by the radiologists and docs on staff. Just have to wait to see the breast doc next Wednesday to get the official all-clear. They saw that I had fluid, and a small cyst. But no one is concerned. So yeay breast and yeay me.
