I guess this could be a 5.99 post, but I want opinions of WWYD not textbook answers.
We are moving to our new apt this weekend, actually starting the process tonight after work. I haven't been able to really find anyone to help out until Sunday which is when we need to be finished. But my aunt said she would help us if she did not end up going out of town. She just texted me and said she can help as she is not going out of town because her 8 year old has lice, so she will be treating that and does not want to take any chances. I responded promptly to take care of her family first and foremost and not to worry about helping so she can get a handle on the situation and not end up with an infestation. She is insisting on still helping, being as it is Wednesday, would you accept help on Saturday? The last thing I need to deal with is having lice get into all our stuff and brought into a new apt. Hopefully she will just take the time to deal with it and get rid of the lice. Help me out J13 ladies!! Please and thanks a bunch in advance!!!
Re: Opinions from BTDT Moms
Though I hate to lie, that is a good idea if she insists on helping. She is always so good to me so the last thing I want to do is make her feel bad or that she doesn't know what she is talking about if she says she is all clear, but seriously it is just not worth it to me to worry about the move and settling in plus having to get rid of lice all with 4 1/2 wks to go before Lucas is here. That is a stressing thought.
Yeah.. I would avoid. My middle daughter got it from somewhere this Spring. Despite me taking every precaution I found one in my hair at one point and a couple in her older sister's hair. We all had to be treated for it. It was awful and was like a 4-6 week ordeal with the rechecks and whatnot.
NOT WORTH IT.
She just said her daughter has it. But with school being out, how is it that the whole house wouldn't have it? I am pretty ignorant on lice just that it is contagious. Also being that we are moving just across town not everything is packed as though it is going on a long trip. For example the top attachments for the pnp are just going to go in the back seat of my car to be brought over, so technically not even packed and I have an overstuffed box of baby blankets that is just getting brought over. Stuff like that could easily get the bugs right? Just not sure what is safe and not safe. And her van always has the kids in it, would the lice be in there? Or am I just being super over paranoid about this whole thing? Unfortunately said aunt is the person I would normally go to with these questions, but under the circumstances like I said I do not want to upset her at all.
