My son is 6 months and has one tooth coming in on the bottom and has been teething for what seems like forever. he constantly has his hands in his mouth chewing on them, drooling, wants to put your fingers in his mouth, and will chew on a teething ring for hours. he's been doing this since about 3 months now, and this one tooth will not cut through.i'm not sure if what he's doing is teething but i'm pretty sure it is i just can't seem to understand why he's be doing it for so long. i'm a first time mom so i'm not sure exactly when to tell if his tooth will cut through. but is it normal for him to only have one tooth coming in at 6 months? i know people with a babies his same age with 3 teeth.
Re: teething.
My LO is nine months old and still does not have any teeth. We had her check-up this morning and our pediatrician said it sometimes takes up to 15 months for a baby to get their first tooth.
Every baby is different. It doesn't mean anything is wrong.
It's all normal. Plus, the "teething" process never stops! DS started drooling A TON since 3 months. His bottom 2 teeth cut through at 5 months, but his drooling never slowed down. (I'm talking about soaking through a bib within an hour and his shirt underneath is completely soaked.) Now at 7.5 m, one of his top tooth is cutting through. I don't think his drooling will ever stop until all his teeth comes out!
Also, the "everything goes into the mouth" phase doesn't stop until they are about 18 months...
