Play with dolls, ride bikes, swim, pretend I was a witch

Rhett only places we ever went was to Chicago with my dad side of the family

2. One that feel off the back porch and broke it legs and had to be put down. Another that died because dad left out to die from heat exhaustion

Everything. I was the only kid, cut grass, rake, clean, cook, laundry. Whatever was needed

My home was a tiny 3 bedroom. I lived with my parents and my brother, till he moved out when I was 13.

3. What did you typically eat for breakfast?
I woke myself up every morning in time to watch one cartoon and eat a bowl of cereal. If I was lucky, I was eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
4. Your favorite tv show?
It's no secret I loved the Golden Girls, but the kids shows I watched were Scooby Doo and Saved by the Bell.
5. Who was your best friend?
My best friend was Nancy. She lived down the street and our birthdays were one day apart. We stayed best friends till she got pregnant in 8th grade.
6. How did you pass your free time?
I did a lot of reading and a lot of listening to and watching New Kids on the Block. I also spent hours and hours playing with my Barbies.
7. Favorite family vacation/outing?
My parents would take us to Disneyland once a year and that was always the best!
8. Best birthday gift?
In first grade, one of my friends gave me two goldfish. Those suckers lived till after I graduated high school. No joke!
9. Did you have a pet?
Besides the fish, I had a sweet dog named Princess.
10. What chores did you have?
I had to keep my room clean, do the dishes, help with laundry and cooking, and dust the furniture once a week.

We lived in a fantastic old Tudor that looked vaguely like a hobbit house. I loved everything about it, especially the glass door knobs and leaded windows. I lived there with my mom and 2 sisters.

Public all the way. It was the oldest in the district and still had the old fire chute from the 1920s. Everyone looked forward to the third grade because you got to use it during drills.
3. What did you typically eat for breakfast?
Some awful kind of Chex cereal with reconstituted powdered milk. We were pretty broke once my parents split up.
4. Your favorite tv show?
Scooby Doo
5. Who was your best friend?
Jimmy R. He lived next door. We learned morse code so we could flashlight talk at night.
6. How did you pass your free time?
Riding bikes, playing with Jimmy, pulling large chunks of shreddy fur off our Shepard husky mix and crafting it into wee ropes or nests for "abandoned" baby birds, reading ghost stories.
7. Favorite family vacation/outing?
We spent a few weeks every summer at our grandparent's cottage in Northern Michigan. Our uncles taught us to fish and sail.
8. Best birthday gift?
My kindergarten teacher gave me a Muppets lunchbox. I still have it.
9. Did you have a pet?
Aforementioned fluffy dog, three cats, 3 gekoes my grandma caught in Hawaii and smuggled back for us and a tank of fish. Birds and hamsters rotated through but the cats usually took care of them at some point.
10. What chores did you have?
All of them. My mom worked and we were expected to help out. I am still ashamed of how sloppy we kept the house.

3. What did you typically eat for breakfast? Cereal, if I even ate breakfast.

5. Who was your best friend? Alyssa. We were best friends for ten years, now we are more just random friends.
6. How did you pass your free time? I was at my best friend's, riding my bike, or in my neighbor's pool every day.
7. Favorite family vacation/outing? Camping.
8. Best birthday gift? Dear Diary. I cherished that thing.
9. Did you have a pet? We had a dog named Sasha who died when I was 10. Then, we got a beagle named Belle and she just died a few years ago. We had a cat named Tigger who died when I was 12.
10. What chores did you have? Everything. My stepdad hated me, so he made me do everything around the house.
SCANDAL!
1. I lived in the same house my whole life, and my parents still live there! It's a colonial built in the 1930s. Three bedrooms, two full baths, two half baths. My parents put an addition on the back in 1991 to make a master suite and enlarge the kitchen. It's a GREAT house! I lived there with my parents and my sister (6 years younger.)
2. I went to a public elementary school in our neighborhood. The best part was that it had a wing for all the special ed kids for the whole district, so I grew up in classes with blind kids, deaf kids, kids with down syndrome, etc. It was a phenomenal place to go to school.
3. Breakfast = cereal or waffles
4. My favorite TV show was totally Avonlea on the Disney Channel. This was when I was really young. When I was older, I liked Ghost Writer on PBS.
5. In elementary school, my best friends were named Laura and Becky. Becky was a year younger, but Laura and I were the same grade... We weren't allowed to be in the same classes because we talked too much. But Becky and I both talked our way into a 4th/5th split gifted class and made a lot of mischief. ;o)
6. I swam and played soccer (good at swimming, terrible at soccer.) I also read a lot and played outside with my friends. I was the oldest kid in the neighborhood and always came up with games and activities for the little ones.
7. We went to Disney every other year. We also had an RV from 4th grade on and we took it to Cape Cod every summer from 4th grade until I was 16.
8. I don't remember! Maybe the inline skates I was given in 5th grade?
9. Yes!!! I had a beautiful Siamese cat named Sebastian. He was a 2nd birthday gift and passed away from kidney failure when I was a sophomore in college.
10. I unloaded the dishwasher and set the table. I also cleaned my room, took my laundry down/upstairs every week and also put it away. I helped clean the bathroom I shared with my sister and also dusted/vacuumed any rooms my mom told me to.

My two best friends were Hannah and Sam. I still talk to both of them. Hannah and her brother made it to my wedding!

Computer games.
7. Favorite family vacation/outing?
Our only real family vacation was to Disney when I was 7. I still remember it. Determined to take Chloe more than once.
8. Best birthday gift?
My mom woke me up on birthday and handed me a cookbook, told me to pick a cake and she would make it. She 'ran out of time' and didn't get it made til a few days later though.
9. Did you have a pet?
A rabbit named Dutch. He lived til he was 14!! (he was originally named Duchess, then we found out he was a he.)
10. What chores did you have?
Pretty much just taking care of myself. Putting my laundry away, packing/emptying my lunch box, homework, cleaning my rabbits cage and taking care of him, and vacuuming because he was an indoor rabbit so his fur got everywhere. Emptying the dishwasher/dehumidifer was usually my job. Come to think of it my mom made me hang up her laundry too. And then I scrubbed the bathroom I shared with my sister, took out the trash. My sister was too busy to do chores.

1. What was your home like? Who lives with you? 2 story, 4 bedroom home in a nicer middle class neighborhood. Big yard with a treehouse my grandfather built. My mom, dad & older sister.

3. What did you typically eat for breakfast? Cereal, toast w/ butter & cinnamon... can't totally remember. I ate PBJ for lunch every single day though.
4. Your favorite tv show? TGIF! Full House, Family Matters, etc.
5. Who was your best friend? Eliz. She was 2 years younger & lived across the street.
6. How did you pass your free time? Building forts, riding bikes, making up dance routines, playing with dolls, all kinds of stuff.
7. Favorite family vacation/outing? Beach trips with extended family
8. Best birthday gift? Nothing stands out.
9. Did you have a pet? Yes, we got a collie when I was 6.
10. What chores did you have? Making my bed, setting/clearing the table, cleaning my bathroom & emptying trash (later elementary), dishes (later)

1. What was your home like? Ranch in the suburbs. we lived next door to my best friend in a really quiet neighborhood. i mustve loved it so much that we recently bought a house there! My mom, dad, brother, and dog Papago.
2. What kind of school did you go to? [public, private, religious, home] I went to the public schools. Little bro went to the Catholic school. He clearly needed more help

5. Who was your best friend? Sarah, my next door neighbor. We are still best friends today
6. How did you pass your free time? We played a lot of outdoor neighborhood games. Kick the can, capture the flag, baserunner...
7. Favorite family vacation/outing? Disneyworld or our annual trip to Phoenix

9. Did you have a pet? We had a collie named Papago. We were weird and named it after a park we enjoyed hiking at on vacation
10. What chores did you have? My mom left a list every day in summer. Always had to load/unload the dishwasher though.

6. How did you pass your free time? Play barbies with Kimmie, play with the miniature pony, make forts and treehouses with my dad.
7. Favorite family vacation/outing? We went camping every year.

9. Did you have a pet? Besides the normal farm animals, I had a miniature pony, a pug, a cow dog, and 2 ferrets. I had a rabbit at some point too.
10. What chores did you have? I always had to rinse the dishes, and feed and water some of the farm animals, and clean out the pony's stall.
Who lives with you? Mom, dad, 5 sisters and 1 brother. [2 more came later]
2. What kind of school did you go to? [public, private, religious, home] Home schooled!! It was awesome. No, we're not weird and socially awkward.

5. Who was your best friend? Her name was Jessica too! I was Jessie and she was Jessa. We're still very close and actually went to the zoo today with our DH's and LO's, her DD is 3 weeks younger than J.
6. How did you pass your free time? We played outside all.day.long. Played games, pretend lives/worlds, explored, ate berries, got dirty, played sports...
7. Favorite family vacation/outing? Going to our cabin in the San Gabriel Mts
8. Best birthday gift? Boogie board
9. Did you have a pet? A Boston Terrier named Bing. I still miss him. Lots of cats, but Olive was my favorite.

1. What was your home like? Who lives with you?Tri-level, 3 br, 2.5 bath; mom, dad, younger brother

3. What did you typically eat for breakfast? frozen waffles or cereal
4. Your favorite tv show? pretty much anything on Nickelodeon
5. Who was your best friend? Marlowe -- we've been BFFs for 20 years now
6. How did you pass your free time? Barbies
7. Favorite family vacation/outing? We went to Myrtle Beach every other summer

9. Did you have a pet? dog "Sport" mutt
10. What chores did you have? none -- There was no consequence for doing them or not doing them so we didn't do any. My parents didn't have much follow through when we broke rules either.
1. What was your home like? Who loves with you? My parents owned a 3 family apartment building. Each unit had 3 bedrooms and only 1 bathroom. We lived on the first floor. My Mom, Dad, 3 sisters and my brother. It was a full house!

3. What did you typically eat for breakfast? cereal and poptarts
4. Your favorite tv show? Smurfs
5. Who was your best friend? Randi & Sara. Randi moved away in 8th grade and Sara's still around. We don't really talk much.
6. How did you pass your free time? Playing outside, riding bikes, barbies at my neighbors house. We didn't really spend time inside our house since there wasn't a lot of room.
7. Favorite family vacation/outing? Every year we'd go to Wells, Maine for the week.
8. Best birthday gift? My CD player when I was 16.
9. Did you have a pet? Always! We had a dog until I was 5. It attacked me and my parents sent it to the "farm." We got a cat after that and had one until a few years ago when it had to be put down. We got another dog when I was 15. Best dog ever!
10. What chores did you have? Laundry, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, cooking (oven only not on the burner until I was ~12). I hated laundry, still do.
Spanning your elementary school years...
1. What was your home like? Who lives with you? We had a TINY house. 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom with my mom, dad, sister and I all living there. Shared a bedroom until my sister left for college. It was on 4 acres of land with a great creek running through the property.
2. What kind of school did you go to? [public, private, religious, home] Public
3. What did you typically eat for breakfast? Cereal mostly rice crispy's or Life
4. Your favorite tv show? Probably full house or Salute Your Shorts
5. Who was your best friend? Karli, we were friends from Kindergarten up until sophomore year in college, then think it came down to people I was still friends with and she was not. Still sucks she is gone.
6. How did you pass your free time? We had neighbors that had 2 boys our ages. We would play in the creek. Ride bikes all around the yards, stay up until 2am playing the sliding board game, cherry ball, a version of baseball and have bonfires and marshmallow fights.
7. Favorite family vacation/outing? We would go camping every year with our grandparents. It was the best thing ever and I will always cherish those memories. We also drove around to ride different trains and camped with my parents as well.
8. Best birthday gift? There were to many to pick just one.
9. Did you have a pet? We always had cats and Fish growing up. There was never a time when we didn't have a cat. Mostly had 2 one time we had 3.
10. What chores did you have?I had to help clean my room, sweep the house and scrub the bathroom floor on my hands and knees, and dry dishes. We didn't have a dish washer growing up.
