Well, thanks for the opinions! I wasn't sure how people would say it. Therefore I asked. I read it Maxuhn.. Kind of like how Oregonians say Oregun and not Oregone.
It's not that I am set on using Max as a nickname and need a form of Maximilian.. It was a pronunciation question. I don't like Maxwell. I don't even know if I want an M name. I have others.
One of my moms friends has a little boy names this. His older brother is Mason. She's also a teacher so I don't know what she was thinking. I don't like it.

As an Oregonian, that pronunciation is right.. However MAXON is terrible, sorry.
OP, It's awful. Step back from the made-up trendy looking name and think about your child as a 50 year old man. THEN give him a good, strong, respectable name.

I actually know a Maxon, and he IS the son of a teen mom. We pronounce it MAX-un. Aside from it definitely sounding "teen mom", it's also an ugly sounding name as other pps have said.
I don't like it though. I think you could do better.
Also...I have read some terrible baby name books so I wouldn't be surprised if uneducated people wrote them. It doesn't take much to get a book printed these days.
I went with Maxwell. Not my fave, but it's a good Scottish name and a nice one if he ever decides to do something ultra professional like law. Others I liked were Maxfield. (After Maxfield Parrish.) However, Maxim is a girly magazine. Maxton is okay, but a trendy make-up. Maxamillian (sp?) is a mouthful, but not bad.
Or, you can just use Max.

I actually really like this name, but spelled Macson. We have friends with a little boy with this name and they call him Mac for short. I think it's cute.
Re: Maxon
Looks like someone trying to get creative with Mason.

I would pronounce it as max in
I don't like it. Not even a little.

I thought this too! Lol.

I would say it this way also, as I clawed my eyes out.
Glad you're not set on using it as a nn.
Max or Maxim are both nice.
